Mrs. Ocasio-Cortez goes to Washington

In January a new congress will be sworn in. Among those new House members will be Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-14th New York Congressional District). She has no prior voting record to judge but she has stated her views. She appeals to a lot of the left wing demographics: minority groups,feminists,socialized medicine groups and those that want free stuff. She has other things going for her too. Perhaps the most important. Perhaps that which got her elected. She is one of the people. She made their drinks for them. Engaged in conversation with them. They relate to her. Another thing the Founding Fathers had someone similar to Cortez in mind when they wrote the Constitution. One of the people would serve in Congress as representatives. The United States Constitution was written during a time when a lot of Monarchs and other despots in European countries claimed right to be the rulers through "divine right" or that God chose them to lead. The concept of the people choosing their own representatives was so radical at the time that it wasn't taken seriously. However when the United States won the American Revolutionary War that very Constitution was put in effect and that effect has resonated around the world. She has drive and sincerity. She does give the impression she cares about her constituents. Another thing is she is not one of them. She is not part of the establishment. She is not a member of the elite.


Now let's just add this up: no prior experience in serving in the government. Appeals to a large number of people. Talks to their constituents. Is constantly dogged by the media. Whom does that remind you of?

Nanny State to dictate correct amount of pizza toppings

What’s more fun that a gooey slice of pizza? The answer is simple: a gooey slice of pizza with the perfectly selected, fresh toppings, of course. But the Food and Drug Administration is demanding that restaurant owners post calorie and other nutritional information about their food… and that might have a terrible effect on the pizza industry. The Daily Signal reports:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s “Nutrition Labeling of Standard Menu Items in Restaurants and Similar Retail Food Establishments” (79 FR 71155) rule is scheduled to take effect on May 5. The 105-page rule implements Obama-era amendments to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), which sets national standards for the marketing and labeling of food products.

The rule will require, among other mandates, that all restaurants and other retail food outlets, such as movie theaters, operating as one brand with at least 20 stores display a calorie count in addition to other nutritional information for all standard menu items on the establishment’s “menus and menu boards.”

Wait just one second. Has the government finally overstepped so much that New Yorkers and Chicagoans will rebel? You just shouldn’t mess with pizza… and restaurant owners are afraid of accidentally breaking the law. “‘Menu’ can refer to any writing that [is] ‘used by a customer to make an order selection at the time the customer is viewing the writing,” said the former executive vice president of Domino’s Pizza, Lynn Liddle.

As anyone who’s gone to a party knows, pizza slices are sometimes radically different sizes, to the calorie counts wouldn’t be reliable. Plus, adding different toppings would also throw off the numbers. “Industry representatives also pointed out that restaurant owners and supervisors can be held criminally liable for FD&C Act violations under the so-called ‘responsible corporate officer doctrine.'”

Yikes. That’s scary stuff and high fines for someone who just wants to sell pizza, not watch their customers’ weight. One Kentucky restaurant owner said, “To face one year in prison for putting too many pepperonis on a pizza? Everybody laughs and smiles, but that’s the reality of the way it’s written now.”

Give me a break! Let Pizza Hut sell pizzas. Let Weight Watchers keep us thin. Not Uncle Sam.

Chelsea Clinton: Hillary's revenge

“The Clintons are like herpes,” actor Tim Allen said last month, “Just when you think they’re gone, they show up again.”

As if on cue, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has come back to life with a new plan to continue her family’s political dynasty – and she’s anointing her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, as our country’s next leader.

Hillary stopped sobbing over her defeat long enough to speak at Harry Reid’s retirement this week, where she announced that she’s throwing a  “thank you” dinner inside the Plaza Hotel’s elegant Grand Ballroom on December 15.

Of course, she’s not thanking her voters like President-elect Donald Trump is.

That’s not the Clinton’s style.

Instead, Hillary is making the event ultra exclusive, inviting only the most elite of her financial donors to the six-figure gala.

To get on this list, you not only had to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for her campaign, but you also had to host an event introducing her to other donors. The bar is so high that even longtime Clinton pals are complaining about being snubbed, according to The Washington Post.
What’s behind all this? According to sources closest to her, it’s plotting her next move to put the Clinton family back into power ASAP – and it links straight back to Chelsea Clinton.
Since voters rejected her last month, Hillary has tried everything from hopeless state recounts, to claiming Russians hacked U.S. voting machines, to trying to sway faithless members of the Electoral College in order to steal the 2016 election.

Still, she’s walking away a loser – this time.

But the Clintons never go away, no matter how much the American people demand it. Journalist Ron Fournier, a Clinton confidante, wrote on Twitter that “sources close to her” told him that “raising doubts about legitimacy of election, even w/out overturning result, is part of Clinton’s plans to keep her options open for 2020.”
That’s right; Hillary Clinton is considering another run for president four years from now, at the age of 73!

But critics says that announcement may just be a smoke screen
For once, Hillary may be doing something that doesn’t benefit her own political career — she’s trying to convince her top donors to shift their money to her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, the Clinton’s cartel’s ace-in-the-hole.

A source close to the Clintons told The New York Post that “the Clintons need some time to regroup after Hillary’s crushing loss,” but “they will not give up.”

“Chelsea would be the next extension of the Clinton brand,” the Clinton insider said.
The plan is for Chelsea Clinton to run for Congress, maybe as early as 2018.

Chelsea will run for the seat of Rep. Nita Lowey, a 79-year-old far-left Democrat from New York, when Lowey retires.

Lowey’s district has two advantages: It’s a Democratic safe seat. Chelsea is unlikely to run into any serious competition there. And Lowey represents the city of Chappaqua, where the Clintons have a home. Chelsea doesn’t live there – she lives in Manhattan with husband Marc Mezvinsky – but that’s no problem for the Clintons. After all, Hillary didn’t live in New York before becoming its U.S. senator.

So, the plan is to put Lowey out to pasture and install Chelsea in her place.
So far, Chelsea has made a comfortable living by cashing in on her family name and access to power, and has been groomed for years by her power hungry parents.

Chelsea Clinton is vice chair of the ethically challenged Clinton Foundation, where she has taken a special interest in its fundraising operations. Coincidentally, she has an estimated net worth of $15 million and owns a $10.5 million apartment overlooking New York City’s Madison Square Park.
And like her parents, Chelsea’s media connections run deep. For example, in 2011 NBC News paid her $600,000 as a special correspondent, although she had no experience in journalism – or, as far as we could tell, any talent, either.

Chelsea only faces one major problem: Lowey is not stepping aside quietly. She says she has no plans to retire, Chelsea’s future plans be damned.

“You’ll have to ask Chelsea” where stories about her retirement are coming from, Lowey said. “I’m running for office. I currently serve, and… I will keep running.”

In fact, a New Rochelle newspaper first published reports that Chelsea plans to run for Lowey’s seat five years ago – but still Lowey hasn’t budged.

If Chelsea wants her seat, it will be over her dead body (which rumors say can be arranged in Clintonland).

But at a minimum, Chelsea will have to work for it, which is more than this 36-year-old grown child has done for anything else in her life.

New York wants to ban full disk encryption

This is ridiculous — New York wants to ban iPhones and the latest Androids because they're too hard to break into.

Take action now to protect privacy everywhere and tell New York to keep their hands off our phones.

Phones get stolen all the time. Buying a new one is expensive enough. But your data falling into the wrong hands can cost much, much more.

Think about it. Whoever stole your phone has a copy of your digital life. They could empty your savings, ruin your credit, or steal workplace files and cost you your job. Just one risque photo could become a life-altering nightmare... especially for teachers, young people or public figures. This happens, and it’s awful.

Thankfully, engineers have a solution to this problem: “full disk encryption". It gives strong protection and it’s easy. You pick a good password, and your phone uses some epic math to protect your data every day. That’s it.

Full disk encryption is so great, we even ran a campaign for it: Reset the Net. And it's winning! The iPhone–and the latest version of Android–make full phone encryption standard for everyone. Data will be safe, even when phones get stolen.

But the same encryption that keeps you safe makes the FBI furious. When they seize a phone, encryption makes it much harder for them to break in. In some rare cases, it’s impossible, but most of the time it’s just more work.

The FBI is pushing states to make “full disk encryption” illegal because they want to make it easier to break into someone's phone.

The problem is that making it easier for the FBI to access the data on a phone means it's WAY easier for anyone with malicious intent to access your data, too. Their "solution" to keeping you safe and cracking down on crime actually puts you at risk.

Take action now to protect encryption and make sure hundreds of millions of innocent people are never exposed to thieves and stalkers, just to speed up a miniscule number of FBI investigations.

The FBI is losing this battle at the federal level, because experts agree that banning encryption would be terrible for public safety, since it would make phones easier for anyone to hack into. So the FBI is being sneaky. They know that just one big state could possibly tip the scales.

If New York bans encryption, Apple, Google, and other companies will have to decide to either make a special phone to sell just in New York and swallow that logistical nightmare, or they'll lower their encryption standards on the devices they sell everywhere to match New York's standard. We can't let that happen — especially because if the FBI wins this case, there's no reason they won't come for our computers next.

We need to stop this now, before it goes any further.

Tell New York State that encryption keeps our data safe, and that banning full disk encryption is a threat to public safety.

Full disk encryption is one of the security steps we use at Fight for the Future to keep our data safe–and yours too. I’m using it right now. We see it as our responsibility to you, and really it’s common sense. Many companies and organizations have this policy, and if they don’t yet, they should!

This New York bill would make us, and millions of other organizations much more vulnerable to attacks.

Prevent gay bill of special rights in Michigan

Two of the wealthiest enemies of Real Marriage in America have just set their sights on Michigan.

Tim Gill and Paul Singer control hundreds of millions of dollars dedicated to the Homosexual Agenda.

Tim Gill’s Action Fund used his millions to take over Colorado politics and enshrine homosexual privileges into law.

Right now, Christian baker Jack Phillips is being persecuted by those very legislative changes.

Paul Singer made his first major attack on the Family when he paid off New York state legislators to pass homosexual “marriage” in their state.

After that, he created the American Unity PAC and pumped millions of dollars in political campaigns and marriage referendums during the 2012 election cycle.

Now these two are trying to “purchase” Michigan for the radical Homosexual Lobby as well.

Singer and Gill have officially funneled $155,000 into Michigan politics to help buy passage of a state version of the Gay Bill of Special Rights.

These pay-offs have gone to State Representatives Frank Foster and Jase Bolger, who is also the Speaker of the State House.

The plan calls for Foster to introduce the bill and for Bolger to bring it up for a vote.

Singer and Gill each gave $50,000 to the Bolger Restore Michigan Fund and $25,000 each to Foster’s Spotlight Michigan Fund.

That's $75,000 from each.

Singer also gave the maximum campaign contribution to Bolger and Foster, while Gill gave the maximum donation to Foster and three declared homosexuals running as Democratic House candidates.

And this is just their first strike.

They don’t have the numbers when it comes to voters, so they are using the numbers in their bank accounts.

But pro-Family Michiganders aren’t giving up.

And they just proved again that the Homosexual Lobby does not have the support of the voters.

Representative Foster lost his bid for re-election in the Republican primary.

His constituents rejected him expressly for his support of the Homosexual Agenda.

His opponent actually credits his own victory to standing against the Homosexual Agenda.

While this is a great victory for the Family, there is a downside we have to deal with.

Foster is now a “lameduck” legislator.

Since he is on his way out of office, he has nothing to lose by pushing the Gay Bill of Special Rights.

We have to ramp up pressure on Michigan legislators to kill this bill in its tracks.
