Sign petition to defund Obamacare

From Rand2016:

Three years.

That’s how long President Obama and his administration had to get his “signature" ObamaCare law ready for “prime time."

Apparently, three years wasn’t enough.

On the Sunday shows over the weekend, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew refused to answer questions about how many people were actually signing up in ObamaCare’s health exchanges.

On Monday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney once again dodged questions.

You’d think the Obama administration would be chomping at the bit to brag about the American public’s mad rush to sign up.

But the truth is, that isn’t happening.

The ObamaCare website just flat-out doesn’t work.

The Wall Street Journal reports that according to IT experts who have reviewed the website, “the site appeared to be built on a sloppy software foundation."

As users try to create accounts, the website crashes.

Answers to security questions, used to confirm identities of people who sign up, were missing from drop-down boxes.

After that problem was resolved, the website still couldn't process applications!

One retiree became so fed up with the ObamaCare website, he called in to talk to an ObamaCare customer service representative – only to find out she was unable help him because she couldn’t work with the website either.

Even in states that have set up their own exchanges, there’s hardly a stampede of interest.

Only 326 people in Maryland have signed up.

Does this increase your confidence in our federal government’s ability to run 1/6th of the American economy?

Of course not.

That's why I hope you'll sign your NO FUNDING FOR OBAMACARE Petition right away.

And after you sign your petition, please make a generous contribution of $250, $100, $50 or even $35.

If that is too much for you to afford, please chip in a contribution of $25 or $10 to help me mobilize the grassroots to encourage Republicans to stand strong against President Obama's attempts to bully Republicans into funding ObamaCare.

Sadly, I’m afraid all of this pales in comparison to the steep economic costs you and I are going to end up paying.

For months now, you and I have heard horror stories of dramatically rising insurance premiums and companies laying off workers and cutting hours “thanks" to ObamaCare.

Now, news reports all over the country are reporting that families are being notified their existing insurance is being cancelled.

They can renew – just at dramatically higher premiums.

Today, our nation is approaching $17 TRILLION in debt. ObamaCare alone is expected to add $2.6 TRILLION over the next ten years in money we simply don’t have.

So what is it we’re getting for all of the increased cost?

Judging from the past week-and-a-half, it seems like a giant mess.

Yet President Obama is still refusing to negotiate?

He’s refusing to lift a finger to stop the economic train wreck resulting from his “signature" healthcare bill?

Even Jon Stewart of Comedy Central – hardly a died-in-the-wool conservative – recently grilled Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius over the fact the Obama administration issued a waiver delaying the employer mandate, but won’t allow so much as a conversation about the individual mandate.

This is outrageous.

As a physician, I can tell you one of the fundamental principles of medicine is first, "do no harm."

I’ve always done whatever I could to follow that principle in my medical practice.

If you agree our federal government should start thinking about following it, as well, I hope you'll sign your NO FUNDING FOR OBAMACARE Petition right away.

And if you can, please agree to a generous contribution of $250, $100, $50, or $35.

If that is too much, please chip in a contribution of $25 or $10.

Your generosity will help me turn the American people's overwhelming opposition to ObamaCare into an overwhelming political FORCE Washington, D.C. can't ignore.

Through petitions, phone calls, emails, and more, you and I can put enough grassroots pressure on Congress to force my colleagues to take up the fight to defund ObamaCare.

But I'm counting on you to take action IMMEDIATELY.

So please sign your NO FUNDING FOR OBAMACARE Petition.

And if you can, please agree to a generous contribution of $250, $100, $50, $35 – or even $10 or $20 – TODAY.

In Liberty,

Senator Rand Paul

P.S. Glitches, layoffs, cut hours, higher premiums . . .

ObamaCare is expected to cost $2.6 TRILLION over the next ten years, and this is what we’re paying for?

If you agree ObamaCare is an economic train wreck, I hope you will sign your NO FUNDING FOR OBAMACARE petition right away.

And after you sign your petition, please make a generous contribution of $250, $100, $50, $35 - or even chip in a contribution of $25 or $10 - to help me lead the fight against ObamaCare.

Tell the House Republicans not to cave in

From Campaign For Liberty:

I need you to stop what you’re doing and call your Representative IMMEDIATELY.

I just got off the phone with an inside source on Capitol Hill, and the Republican “leadership” is preparing to cave in and cut a deal with Barack Obama.

In fact, at a backroom meeting just a few moments ago, House Speaker John Boehner proposed his plan to pass a short-term increase in the debt ceiling - while a bipartisan conference committee works out a compromise in the meantime.

Although this deal does not “reopen the government,” by raising the debt ceiling, the GOP is trading away most of their leverage.

That’s why it’s critical you call Congress and urge your Representative to reject any compromise or “deal” that doesn’t End the Mandate.

You can reach your Representative at:

Locate your Congressional Representative

Prior to today’s announcement, members of the Republican “leadership” were already talking about dropping defunding ObamaCare from their list of demands in favor of yet another do-nothing “Super Committee.”

In fact, Congressman Paul Ryan has already proposed a deal to “reopen” the government and raise the debt ceiling.

All the GOP “leadership” wants is for Barack Obama to promise to work on spending cuts sometime in the future.

If Republicans hold the line, you and I can win this fight and End the Mandate!

So please call Congress immediately. Tell your Representative not to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and to stand up and fight against Barack Obama’s demands.

This deal is expected to go down any time now.

So please call your Representative right away.

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

P.S. Please chip in $5 or $10 to help Campaign for Liberty flood Capitol Hill with phone calls and petitions DEMANDING Congress End the Mandate!

Stop Terry McAuliffe

From Stop Hillary PAC:

We've got a problem.

If we don't act immediately, in just a few weeks time Hillary will have won her first major victory of the 2016 race for the White House, and there won't be a thing we can do about it.

Hillary Clinton's close friend and top political ally, Terry McAuliffe, is running for Governor of Virginia and a poll conducted this week shows the race tied.

Here's why this is important: Clinton is using this race to strengthen her grip over this key 2016 battleground state by installing her most loyal henchman as governor. She needs Virginia to steal her way into the White House and she's making her move now, while nobody is watching.

Terry McAuliffe must be defeated at all costs -- and we urge you take immediate action to defeat this major Clinton ally. Click here right now to make an immediate contribution to stop Clinton henchman Terry McAuliffe.

We have reports from operatives in the state that aides who will be key to Hillary's presidential campaign are on the ground right now working for Terry McAuliffe's campaign. We also know that Hillary has visited Virginia in support of McAuliffe -- and even hosted an exclusive fundraiser in her multi-million dollar Washington, D.C., mansion to raise money for McAuliffe from her network of rich, connected, and powerful Democrats inside the beltway.

If you need any proof as to what went on at Hillary's house....just look at who was spotted entering the insider's only event: James Carville, Paul Begala, Huma Abedin, and John Podesta. Add in Hillary and Terry McAuliffe, and the entire Clinton inner circle was gathered for this event. They might as well have just called it a Hillary for President campaign meeting!

James Carville talked to reporters on the way out of event saying: "Oh, it was exciting. It was thrilling. It was everything you could ever hope for and more."

I don't think he was talking about Terry McAuliffe's candidacy - I think he was talking about Hillary's.

Please make an immediate contribution right now to stop Clinton henchmen Terry McAuliffe.

If we're serious about stopping Hillary than we need to be dead serious about doing everything that it takes. Terry McAuliffe winning will be seen as a major victory for Hillary Clinton.

Now it's more clear than ever...our first major battle of the 2016 campaign against Hillary is underway right now in Virginia and we have just weeks to turn the tide.

Please, take immediate action right now to ensure we hand Hillary an immediate political defeat.

Sincerely,

Senator Ted Harvey (R)
Colorado State Senator
Co-Founder, Stop Hillary PAC

PS: A poll conducted this week shows the Virginia governor's race as tied. If we don't act immediately, in just a few weeks time Hillary will have won her first major victory of her 2016 presidential campaign and there won't be a thing we can do about it. Please Ray, make an immediate contribution right now to stop Clinton henchmen Terry McAuliffe.

If you live in Virginia or are registered to vote in Virginia and the thought of Terry McAuliffe as Governor makes you violently ill you may want to support the GOP candidate for governor Ken Cuccinelli. A vote for McAuliffe will help Hillary and her candidacy. OTOH a vote for Cuccinelli will hurt Hillary and her candidacy. Which one appeals to you? If you said the latter you are in the right place. Let's do this.

The Sadism of Harry Reid

The Sadism of Harry Reid

sadism: (noun) enjoyment that someone gets from being violent or cruel or from causing pain

The good news is that those civilian Department of Defense workers I mentioned in Friday’s Jolt will go back to work soon.

On Saturday, the House of Representatives passed a resolution 407-0 to ensure back pay for federal workers furloughed because of the shutdown. Those federal workers still have the problem of no paycheck coming until after the shutdown ends – but if and when this bill passes, they can at least take assurance that they’ll get paid for the weeks they’ve been furloughed.*

This is quite the revealing moment, as the leadership of the Democratic party and federal government workers are supposed to be the best of friends — symbiotic, really. But when the moment comes to help out federal workers, Harry Reid drags his feet. The only plausible motivation is that the Democrats’ strategy for “winning” the shutdown fight requires maximizing the pain to as many Americans as possible, so that the pressure is maximized on the GOP opposition to accept a deal that amounts to unconditional surrender.

Thus, we have a government shutdown where the federal Amber Alert site is down, but Michelle Obama’s “Drink Water” site remains up. (The volunteer site, AmberAlert.com, and MissingKids.com are still up.) Now wonder this morning people are saying the president lives in “the Spite House.”

I hope those federal workers are paying attention.

Harry Reid drags his feet on alleviating the financial anxiety of hundreds of thousands of furloughed federal workers, and he’s refused to bring to the floor seven continuing resolutions, all passed by the House, all passed by wide and fairly bipartisan majorities (all or almost all of the Republicans, and another 20 or so House Democrats):

1.Authorizing military chaplains to do their duties during the shutdown;

2.Continuing appropriations for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children for fiscal year 2014 (food stamps).

3.Continuing appropriations for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

4.Continuing appropriations for veterans benefits.

5.Continuing appropriations for the National Institutes of Health.

6.Continuing appropriations for National Park Service operations, the Smithsonian Institution, the National Gallery of Art, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

7.Continuing appropriations of local funds of the District of Columbia.

Not a single one of those resolutions says anything about Obamacare.

We know why Harry Reid isn’t bringing them to the floor. If he did, they would pass. Senate Democrats wouldn’t be able to vote “no” on any of those priorities without providing fodder for attack ads next fall (maybe the District of Columbia). And if they pass, the pain of the shutdown is mitigated in part.

Harry Reid doesn’t want to minimize the pain of the shutdown. He wants to maximize it.

* I can hear the complaints now: “Jim, why should these federal workers get paid if they’re not working?” If you want to eliminate their jobs, then eliminate their jobs. But these workers have been stuck in a holding pattern: ‘Stop going to work until further notice, and maybe you’ll get paid for the days or weeks you’re not there.’ Most workers and their families could get by for a couple days or a week without pay, but how many weeks could you or your household go by with no money coming in?

These workers didn’t walk off the job. They didn’t quit. This isn’t their fault, but they’re the ones feeling the most pain. In the District of Columbia and Virginia, a worker has to be out of work for a week before filing for unemployment benefits, and payments may not begin for several weeks. And if a furloughed federal worker does collect unemployment benefits, they have to pay them back once they receive any back pay. In other words, there’s a good chance that the unemployment benefit check will arrive just as the check for the back pay arrives.

Remind the Republicans not to give in

From Campaign For Liberty:

“Give in.” “Give up.”

“Cut a deal and get back to business as usual.”

With the federal government’s shutdown now entering day 7, Members of Congress who are standing firm against ObamaCare’s individual mandate are under tremendous pressure to cave in.

Wthout your IMMEDIATE action today, I’m afraid that’s exactly what will happen - and you and I will be the ones paying the big, fat price tag.

That’s why I’m counting on you to fill out your END THE MANDATE Emergency Fax Petition to Congress right away.

As you’ll see, your Emergency Fax Petition insists your Representative and Senators vote AGAINST any Continuing Resolution that doesn’t end the Individual Mandate.

The truth is, this Individual Mandate - which forces Americans to buy a government-approved health care plan - not only infringes on your right to control your own health care, but serves as the linchpin of ObamaCare.

If you and I can pull the linchpin, the whole Big Government scheme will unravel.

That’s why this fight could not be more important.

The truth is, Members of BOTH parties know ObamaCare’s implementation is going to be a “train wreck.”

In fact, that’s how one Democrat U.S. Senator described it!

Now, hardworking Americans from all over the country are already beginning to feel its devastating impact, including:

*** Major employers such as Home Depot and Trader Joe’s are announcing they will no longer provide medical coverage for part-time workers;

*** Tens of thousands of full-time employees across the country are seeing their hours cut back to part-time.

Last year, six full-time jobs were created for every one part-time job. But this year, only one full-time job is being created for every four part-time jobs;

*** Health care companies in at least ten states have been forced to restrict plan options available to consumers;

*** Businesses such as the Cleveland Clinic – Ohio’s second largest employer – are announcing MASSIVE $330 million annual cuts just to deal with the ObamaCare fiasco.

During these tough economic times, shouldn’t we be doing everything possible to get government off people’s backs so businesses can expand? But our national media continues to parrot statist propaganda that “ObamaCare is already law. Get over it.”

They tell us the only appropriate action would be for folks like you and me to just stop “obsessing” over ObamaCare’s repeal.

I’d love to see them try to tell that to someone who just lost their job because of ObamaCare.

But the truth is, without your action, it’s all about to get worse . . .

“Just” full funding for ObamaCare isn’t the only thing the statists are now demanding.

Even with nearly $2.7 TRILLION in expected tax “revenue” – the exact amount of our entire federal budget in 2007 – the statists in Congress want the debt ceiling raised again.

Perhaps more taxes, too.

Never mind every man, woman, and child in the country now being on the hook for nearly $55,000 each . . .

Why is it our statist politicians believe the answer to EVERY problem is ALWAYS a little more spending and a little less freedom?

Why is it ALWAYS those of us who believe in limited government who have to cave?

The answer is because they think that when those of us who believe in limited government force the GOP leadership to take a stand, they can force them to eventually crumble.

Some media reports are already claiming the Republican leadership, despite public pledges to stand strong, are preparing behind the scenes to cave in and surrender on the debt ceiling and ObamaCare.

But this fight is too important to our country’s future for us to accept another choreographed surrender from the GOP.

That’s it’s vital you contact your Representative and Senators IMMEDIATELY.

Whether they like it or not, Members of Congress still are supposed to represent YOU.

Not the national media. Not the big-spending special interests.

Tell them you’ve had enough of their spending. Enough of their taxing and borrowing our country into the poorhouse.

Tell them you’re not going to just “give up” and watch ObamaCare ravage our economy.

Tell them to End the Mandate and DESTROY this whole ObamaCare monstrosity.

And, if you can, in addition to signing your END THE MANDATE Emergency Fax Petition, please agree to your most generous contribution of $15 IMMEDIATELY.

If that’s too much, please agree to $10 or at least $5.

Only you can inject steel into Congress’ spines.

Help me send the message to your Members of Congress that if they don’t have the GUTS to stand up and fight, the American people will find new Representatives and Senators who will.

So please sign your END THE MANDATE Emergency Fax Petition and agree to your most generous contribution of $15, $10, or at least $5 IMMEDIATELY.

In Liberty,

John Tatef
President

P.S. Congress is getting heat from every direction to cut a deal and be done with the government "shutdown."

As you’ll see, your Emergency Fax Petition insists your Representative and Senators vote AGAINST any Continuing Resolution that doesn’t end the Individual Mandate.

If the Mandate is ended, ALL of ObamaCare will unravel.

So please sign your Emergency Fax Petition and agree to your most generous contribution of $15, $10, or at least $5 IMMEDIATELY!
