Demand that congress conduct a transparent inquiry into the NSA spying

Last week we reached out to our list and asked for help to fund a phone number that will allow anyone to easily contact their representatives to demand a transparent inquiry into NSA spying. You came through!

With your help, we raised over $5,000, which will completely cover the cost of the phone number AND let us put a bunch of extra time into helping it go viral so that we can drown Congress in phone calls the way we did when SOPA threatened the very fabric on the net. Yesterday the EFF, Free Press, and other members of the StopWatching.us coalition started pushing the number out to members. We’ve already driven over 1,000 phone calls to Congress, and we’re just getting started.

Congress has the power to make the NSA’s life a living hell for quite some time, and to eventually scale back some of these programs, but only if we hold their feet to the fire. With phones.

We also made this simple image that you can share on social media. The beautiful thing about a phone number is that you can put it anywhere, so post it wherever you share things online, text it to your grandma, or shout it from the stage next time you’re at karaoke.
