Make politicians keep their promises

From Campaign For Liberty:

Washington, D.C. is still reeling from the results of last Thursday and Friday when RyanCare -- AKA "ObamaCare-lite" -- was pulled from the House floor due to lack of support and grassroots anger.

Now, all the politicians we heard promise us they were going to repeal ObamaCare seem strangely happy that they didn't get the job done.

Instead of learning the lesson that they must listen to the grassroots patriots who elected them, House Speaker Paul Ryan states, "We're going to be living with ObamaCare for the foreseeable future."

And the White House is openly claiming they want to start wheeling and dealing with Big Government statists like Chuck Schumer (D-NY)! And Schumer has indicated he is eager to deal with the Republicans if that is what it takes to save ObamaCare.

I'm more worried than ever about what's coming next.

That's why I'm counting on you to sign your "NO MORE BETRAYALS" petition to your U.S. Representative and Senators today.

As you'll see, these petitions tell your elected officials in no uncertain terms that you expect them to DELIVER on the promises to repeal ObamaCare that so many made on the campaign trail in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016.

In December of 2015, congressional Republicans passed an ObamaCare repeal bill -- using the reconciliation process -- through both houses of Congress and placed it on President Obama's desk.

President Obama, of course, vetoed that bill.

But it was meant to show the American people how serious Congress was about ending ObamaCare.

At virtually any moment congressional leaders decide to, they can pass this same bill again -- and relegate ObamaCare to the trash-heap of history.

But they won't do it unless you and I force them to act and FAST.

You see, I'm afraid they're perfectly happy that ObamaCare remains on the books today. Too many senators and representatives seem willing to abandon the effort to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with healthcare freedom where you're in charge and the free market is restored.

And the more time that passes, the more likely it is the American people will simply "forget" they've broken their promises.

That's why your continued action is so critical.

First, please sign your "NO MORE BETRAYALS" petition to your U.S. Representative and Senators.

Second, if you possibly can, please agree to your most generous contribution of $250, $100 or $50.

Or, if that's too much, please agree to $25 or even $10.

With your help, Campaign for Liberty is going to keep the heat on Congress for the repeal of ObamaCare we were promised!

But we're counting on your continued support and action.

For liberty,

Ron Paul
Chairman

That's why I'm counting on you to sign your "NO MORE BETRAYALS" petition to your U.S. Representative and Senators today and agree to your most generous contribution of $250, $100, $50, $25 or even $10 right away!

Don't let Big Labor get away with labeling the National Right To Work Act unconstitutional

From The National Right To Work Foundation:

With the sudden passing of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, the union bosses smell blood in the water.

With one legal case, quietly filed in federal court in Idaho, you and I could be facing the biggest forced-dues threat we've seen from Big Labor in decades.

Not long ago, with the help of a Harvard Law professor and former SEIU union official, Big Labor launched a brand-new legal assault -- one in which they're counting on a majority of the current and potentially future Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court to rubber stamp.

Their claim is that the very concept of Right to Work is somehow UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

As outlandish as that sounds, in today's warped world of legal logic, it's a very real threat. And should the union bosses get their way:

***EVERY state Right to Work Law in the country could be wiped out -- beginning almost immediately with Arizona, Idaho and Nevada.

***The National Right to Work Act would effectively be KILLED forever.

***Big Labor would gain an airtight stranglehold on Washington, D.C. that could last for DECADES.

I don't want to mince words here.

This is an all-out EMERGENCY.

Will you please sign your Legal Defense Authorization Form, directing the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation to FIGHT this critical case IMMEDIATELY?

I'll admit -- when I first read through the basis of the union bosses' ridiculous legal case -- I could only shake my head.

Big Labor is effectively arguing that workers who refuse to pay union dues are violating the Fifth Amendment's "takings clause," claiming the U.S. Constitution mandates that workers MUST pay for Big Labor monopoly "representation" whether they want it or not!

In so doing, of course, they're leaving out some inconvenient "details" . . .

. . . Details like the fact that Big Labor exercises special privileges in federal law to FORCE their representation on workers who don't want it through monopoly bargaining.

This is the corrupt scheme that should be ended -- NOT workers' ability to decide for themselves whether or not to pay union dues!

But despite all of these facts I'm afraid this is not something you and I can ignore -- not with this case likely to be heard by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

As you probably know, the Ninth Circuit has become infamous for its highly politicized, pie-in-the-sky legal rulings in recent years.

So it's no accident the union bosses chose to file this lawsuit where they hope their black-robed buddies will be quick to sign off on their legal assault.

If this union boss legal assault is ultimately successful, every state Right to Work law in the country will be DESTROYED!

Not only that, but that decision would likely invalidate the constitutionality of the National Right to Work Act as well!

With all state Right to Work Laws gone, union bosses would be free to force workers to pay union dues in all 50 states.

That alone would set off a nightmare scenario, including:

***DOUBLING the $11 BILLION the union bosses rake in every year in forced-union dues, bankrolling a union-label political machine that would have an iron lock on Washington, D.C. -- perhaps for DECADES;

***Skyrocketing taxes and inflation as forced-dues-funded government union bosses live high on the hog while the rest of America suffers, jobs are lost and more and more companies move overseas;

***Never-ending spending on Big Labor's favorite government programs, driving our national debt even higher;

***Bailouts and sweetheart deals for big companies with fat union payrolls, while smaller mom and pop businesses -- too small for Big Labor's "first wave" of organizing -- get strangled with government regulations;

I'm afraid it's a DISASTER in the making. . .

And it staggers me to think just how close to a reality this scenario may be right now.

As I write you, National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation attorneys are preparing to strike back, putting the finishing touches on our first legal brief in response.

And I'm not going to kid you.

As frivolous as this case may be, I don't believe for a second it will be won over night.

I'm afraid Big Labor has had this up their sleeves for some time.

After all, the union bosses know nearly 80% of the American people are opposed to forced-unionism.

They know the National Right to Work Act is gaining support in Congress.

They know as more and more states pass Right to Work and experience the very real benefits that come from ending forced-unionism, their forced-dues-funded empire will only continue to crumble.

>>>After Indiana passed Right to Work, the union bosses tried and failed to invalidate it through state court rulings.

>>>Then, in Michigan, they tried a referendum to stop Right to Work from EVER being enacted there -- but it ended up backfiring, paving the way for legislative passage.

>>>Now, after passage of Right to Work in Wisconsin and West Virginia, the union bosses see the American people rising up against their forced-dues empire.

Now Big Labor has cooked up this horrendous legal scheme to silence the voice of Americans by having the federal courts impose forced-unionism on all of us!

The good news is, the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation is THE organization to stop them.

After all, it was our team of attorneys that helped defeat Big Labor's assault on Indiana's Right to Work Law.

Not only that, but Foundation attorneys have successfully argued before the U.S. Supreme Court 17 times and have won literally thousands of lower court decisions.

No other organization boasts a staff with this kind of pedigree or our track record of success.

That said, Foundation attorneys are already representing over 47,000 employees, in 298 open cases over just the last 12 months, who have been harmed by the injustices of forced-unionism.

Each and every one of these cases is designed to protect or expand critical legal precedents that last far into the future.

So taking on a new case -- especially one of this magnitude -- is a huge commitment.

The costs are likely to run well into the HUNDREDS of thousands, which we can't afford with our bank accounts as they stand today.

That's why I'm writing.

As I explained, there is no way we can ignore this threat -- not with so much at stake.

I simply must hear from you.

Your signature on the Legal Defense Authorization Form I've crafted for you will tell me everything I need to know.

It will tell me you're directing the Foundation to fight this Big Labor legal assault with everything we have.

But frankly I need more than your signature right now.

I know this is really asking you to stretch -- in fact, I'm almost hesitant to ask for this much -- but I'm really hoping you will come through with a generous tax-deductible contribution of $35.

That's a lot, I know.

It's much more than you've ever given in the past.

But in a "do or die" fight like this, I can't hold anything back.

I hope you won't either.

Of course, if $35 is just too much, please agree to $25, $15 or whatever you can afford.

At a minimum, please give $10.

I apologize for being so forward and asking so much of you.

But with so much on the line, I have to. I hope you understand that.

Please sign your Legal Defense Authorization Form today, and agree to your most generous contribution of $35, $25, $15 or at least $10 right away.

There's no time to waste.

I need to hear from you right away.

Sincerely,

Mark Mix
President, National Right to Work Foundation

P.S.With one quietly filed legal case in federal court in Idaho, you and I are facing the biggest forced-dues threat we've seen from Big Labor in decades.

Should Big Labor get its way, every state Right to Work Law could be wiped off the books, the National Right to Work Act would be killed and the union bosses will have an airtight stranglehold on Washington, D.C. for years to come.

I'm counting on your help to stop it.

Will you please sign your Legal Defense Authorization Form, directing the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation to FIGHT this critical case IMMEDIATELY?

Well then let's take a look at the Fifth Amendment shall we:

Amendment 5 - Trial and Punishment, Compensation for Takings

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Source

No matter how many times I read it it says nothing about labor unions nor does it discuss if you should donate to a labor union or not nor does it access a fine or other punishment if you don't join or support a labor union. Let's just say that the Fifth Amendment does not cover labor unions whatsoever. So why are they lying like they are? Good question.

Repeal Obamacare

From RandPAC:

Is the fight to repeal ObamaCare over?

Is this disastrous law – that's driving up health insurance premiums, costing jobs and wrecking our economy – now cemented in the federal law books forever?

I can't tell you how many times I've read news headlines in the press over these past several weeks that some even in my own party are just "giving up!"

Well, as far as I'm concerned, this fight is NOT over.

In fact, I believe this November could be a major turning point in this battle!

And if you agree, I need to hear from you right away.

If you still believe – like I do – that we simply cannot rest until ObamaCare is repealed, won't you please sign your "Stand With Rand® to Repeal ObamaCare" petition IMMEDIATELY?

I know exactly what our media is trying to do with their flood of stories in recent weeks.

It's to make people forget all about, "If you like your health insurance, you can keep it." It's to take what should be the most powerful issue in the 2014 elections off the table.

You and I can't let them.

As a practicing ophthalmologist for 17 years – specializing in cataract and glaucoma surgeries, LASIK procedures, and corneal transplants – the ObamaCare issue really hits home for me.

In fact, ObamaCare was a key reason I decided to run for the U.S. Senate in 2010. But whenever my schedule permits, I still perform free cataract surgeries for those without health insurance.

Sadly, many Americans who used to be happy with their health insurance are now finding themselves in that boat.

And as Forbes estimates, between six and seven million Americans have lost their health insurance due to ObamaCare.

So much for President Obama's false assurances. Now, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office states that four million Americans will be forced to pay ObamaCare penalties!

I'm not sure there's any greater symbol of Washington, D.C.'s utter incompetence than the disaster you and I see unfolding with ObamaCare.

I know we're constantly told that politicians and bureaucrats know best. I know we're constantly told that if we'd just give up more of our freedom, then Washington, D.C. can "fix" our lives for us.

But it's exactly this kind of hubris that's brought our nation to the brink.

Today, our massive $17.5 TRILLION national debt continues to skyrocket as we see ObamaCare making our economic and healthcare problems even worse, including:

*** ObamaCare's $2.6 TRILLION in spending of money we don't have that will do absolutely NOTHING to improve American healthcare. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office reports that ten years from now, 31 million Americans will still be without health insurance!

*** Lost jobs and cut back hours as employers are forced to look for ways to keep their doors open while facing ObamaCare's tax and regulatory nightmare. Hardworking families, struggling to make ends meet, bear the brunt of it all.

*** Nearly 40% of American citizens out of the labor force – the highest number since the Carter presidency. In fact, our national economy shrank during the first quarter of 2014. Another quarter of negative growth will meet the economic definition of a recession.

As far as I'm concerned, the American people don't need to wait around for a government official to tell them things are bad. They already know it. They already feel it.

But instead of working to lighten government's load on the American people, the Obama administration is using little-known provisions in ObamaCare to bail out insurance companies with BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars.

That's why, just months ago, some Democrats were predicting the ObamaCare fiasco was going to "hit the fan” in November 2014 – and were desperately working to find some bipartisan "solution" to protect them against the American peoples' wrath at the ballot box.

As far as I'm concerned, the only solution is repeal. 100% repeal.

But now, some press reports are saying some members of my own Republican Party are giving up? Some of my colleagues are saying repealing ObamaCare is just "too hard?"

I guess they think the American people want mealy-mouthed policies and Big Government "compromise." But I think the American people want Washington, D.C. to stop making their lives harder!

Today, despite an all-out taxpayer-funded PR blitz by the Obama administration, polls show a clear majority of Americans oppose ObamaCare.

So I need you to help me stiffen my colleagues' spines and put every politician in Washington, D.C. on notice that you and I will not rest until ObamaCare is wiped off the books.

I'm afraid, without your action, our national media will get away with blurring the lines between all the damage President Obama and the Democrats have inflicted on our country and the limited government solutions I want our Republican Party to start offering.

I can't begin to explain what a DISASTER that would be.

If somehow Democrats don't pay a price in November 2014, I'm afraid ObamaCare will become even more cemented in federal law.

But if Republicans campaign loudly and clearly against this horrific healthcare scheme and triumph this November, I believe ObamaCare's days will be numbered.

That's why your action today is so critical.

Please sign your "Stand With Rand® to Repeal ObamaCare" petition right away. And if you possibly can, please agree to chip in whatever you can TODAY.

Using mail, email, Internet ads and phone banks, my hope is to mobilize an army of Americans nationwide who – like me – insist on nothing less than 100% repeal of ObamaCare.

The petitions I generate from these liberty-loving Americans will help me as I fight to ensure my Republican Party stays 100% committed to ObamaCare repeal AND ensure Democrats have nowhere to run from the national healthcare disaster they've caused as November 2014 approaches.

But I can't do it without your support.

So in addition to your signed "Stand With Rand® to Repeal ObamaCare" petition, won't you please agree to chip in a contribution of $20 at once?

I know that's a lot – it's much more than you've given in the past.

But I believe November 2014 will be a turning point in our fight against President Obama's national healthcare takeover.

Either you and I will take a massive step toward wiping this law off the books. Or ObamaCare will become even more entrenched in federal law. Those are the stakes.

But if $20 is just too much, won't you please agree to chip in a contribution of $10 or $5 right away?

I'm not about to give up this fight.

If you agree, please stand with me today. Please agree to chip in a contribution of $20, $10 or at least $5 TODAY!

In liberty,

Senator Rand Paul (R - Kentucky)

P.S. If somehow Democrats don't pay a price in November 2014, I'm afraid ObamaCare will become even more cemented in federal law. But if Republicans campaign loudly and clearly against this horrific healthcare scheme and triumph this November, I believe ObamaCare's days will be numbered.

But I need your help today to ensure our Republican Party stays 100% committed to wiping ObamaCare off the books!

So please sign your "Stand With Rand® to Repeal ObamaCare" petition right away. And if you possibly can, please agree to chip in a contribution of $20, $10 or at least $5 TODAY.

Senator Rand Paul wants to repeal Obamacare and he needs your help

Senator Rand Paul: WHEN WILL OBAMA START CARING?

Just when you thought Obamacare couldn’t get any worse, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reported on Tuesday that the equivalent of 2.5 million jobs will be lost due to Obamacare.

We can’t afford to lose any more jobs.

These numbers are calculated according to how many work hours the CBO estimates will be lost in the coming decade.

Reuters reports, “In its latest U.S. fiscal outlook, the nonpartisan CBO said the health law would lead some workers, particularly those with lower incomes, to limit their hours to avoid losing federal subsidies that Obamacare provides to help pay for health insurance and other healthcare costs.

Reuters continues, “Work hours would be reduced by the equivalent of 2.5 million jobs in 2024, said the agency, which earlier predicted 800,000 fewer full-time jobs by 2021. The bottom line would be a slower rate of growth for employment and compensation in the coming decade, according to the report.”

This is yet another example of the damage Obamacare has continued to inflict since its implementation.

Healthcare premiums have increased for millions. Couple this with high unemployment and it doesn’t look good for those already struggling in this bad economy.

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of this debacle is that critics knew that both employees and employers would have to adjust their hours and hiring practices in order to navigate the pitfalls of this new law.

Just like when the President promised, “If you like your plan you can keep it,” those in the Administration who promised that Obamacare wouldn’t negatively impact the job market couldn’t have been more wrong.

This week’s CBO report proves it.

Some workers will be forced to work fewer hours and will receive less pay, as both employers and employees attempt to avoid parts of the law that impact them negatively.

The new report states, “CBO estimates that the ACA will reduce the total number of hours worked, on net… almost entirely because workers will choose to supply less labor — given the new taxes and other incentives they will face and the financial benefits some will receive.”

The incentives under Obamacare are for both employers and employees to seek government-sponsored benefits as opposed to work.

The way our current system is structured, it will be in their best personal interest for them to do so.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney responded to the lost jobs in this week’s report by saying, “Americans would no longer be trapped in a job just to provide coverage for their families, and would have the opportunity to pursue their dreams.

This CBO report bears that out, and the Republican plan to repeal the ACA would strip those hard-working Americans of that opportunity."

Americans dream of having jobs that give them enough hours to take care of their families, including providing for their healthcare.

Obamacare puts a significant dent in that dream, and Mr. Carney should be ashamed of himself for trying to pretend this disastrous policy is somehow a “choice” for workers.

Obamacare has been many things, but giving Americans more “choice” is not among them. It is a mandate on all of us.

The horribly misnamed Affordable Care Act may go down as one of the worst disruptions of the economy and government intrusions into our personal lives in history.

By every measure—jobs, quality healthcare, the financial burden—this act has not been affordable.

When will this president start caring?
