I recently heard about the war torn country of El Gabriel, specifically the capital,Las Palmas. Las Palmas was once a thriving city in this nation but war and other strifes have taken their toll on this once prosperous city. Check it out yourself:
The fighting between the government and the rebels has destroyed this city.
Guess what. Time to fess up. There is no Las Palmas and there is no El Gabriel.
Those photos are of Detroit Michigan USA.
If the photos didn't drive the point home I hope the videos do:

I don't appreciate the narrow-minded conservative approach of blaming local government for the product of our national policies.
In the mid-70's proven approaches to international trade were shoved aside for an ideology assembled by international banking and manufacturing conglomerates.
"Free Trade" was put into place, which put the american middle class and the manufacturing sector which employed them creating durable goods in competition with cheap knock-off quality crap created by third-world peasants.
The results:
Today everything made in american factories from the 30's to the 70's is worth a tremendous amount of money, because it lasts generations and you simply can't buy things this durable anymore.
Today, everything sold in stores has a half-life of about 5 years, but even these are unaffordable because everyone's jobs have been shipped to the third world.
Today, the US economy as a whole is teetering on collapse because we've replaced our manufacturing sector with alternating asset bubbles and a dependence upon regulatory structures like "intellectual property" which mean jack squat to our geo-economic rivals, who are getting wealthy off the jobs our politicians gave away.
The US as a whole needs a Marshall or Hamilton Plan, because we are now a wholly owned colony of China.
