From The National League Of Taxpayers:
They used to call it graft.
Now they call it crony capitalism and untold millions have been made by those in the know.
A case in point is Richard Blum, billionaire husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein of California:
***When the housing market crashed in 2008, Blum raked in $108 million selling foreclosed homes the government bought.
***In 2012 Blum invested $1 million in green energy company Amyris which only weeks later received $24 million from the Department of Energy.
***While Feinstein was the chair of the Senate Military Construction Subcommittee, $1.5 billion was given to defense contractors, resulting in a $5-$10 million profit for Blum.
This brand of "crony capitalism" may be legal, but it's not right.
But of course, with a government as big and out of control as ours, it could not be any other way.
Big government naturally creates a pool of big spending politicians who tax us in every way possible, and then use that money to make their cronies richer.
That’s why you and I must fight to give the power and the money back to the people, and take it away from tax-and-spend politicians and their cronies.
And why we must say no – no – no to any further expansion of government.
Sincerely,
Gary Paumen, President
National League of Taxpayers

Defeat the Internet Tax Mandate
From The National League of Tax Payers:
They are on the attack again.
And this time, members of both parties are the problem.
Of course, the only thing big-government politicians love more than spending your money is taking away more of it.
Are you prepared to pay taxes to use online services like Google, Facebook, Ebay or Netflix?
How about surrendering even more money to help finance ObamaCare?
If your answer is a resounding NO, then please keep reading.
President Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and unfortunately even a number of Republicans are looking at a new source of "revenue" through the Internet Sales Tax.
Of course, when tax-and-spend politicians introduce controversial legislation, they make sure to give it a name that'll be more receptive to taxpayers.
That's why they're calling it the "Marketplace Fairness Act" in an attempt to hide its obvious implications from you.
But make no mistake. Nothing about this big-government boondoggle is "fair."
You see, the Internet Sales Tax would hand the Federal Government massive new controls over state tax policies and set the stage for government at all levels to tax, regulate and track every transaction you make on the Internet.
The Internet Sales Tax would also create an online regulatory nightmare that will wreak havoc on businesses by forcing them to comply with 50 separate tax codes.
That's why it's critical you sign the petition DEMANDING my colleagues in the House and Senate vote "NO" on the Internet Sales Tax.
I'll give you a link in just a moment, but first, let me explain exactly what's at stake.
Tax-and-spend politicians are foaming at the mouth fantasizing about new spending programs they can create by using additional taxpayer dollars.
Today, instead of finding ways to cut spending and reduce taxes to get our economy going again, members of both parties are moving to squeeze even more money from the American people
Money that they intend to use in their efforts to fund and create more government programs like ObamaCare and Medicaid expansion.
The last thing we need is more taxes for the purpose of implementing more government.
That's why it's so critical you sign your No Internet Sales Tax petition.
And after you sign your petition, please chip in with $10, $15, or more to help fight back against the Internet Sales Tax right away.
The Internet is one of the greatest inventions of our time – and it's one of the last marketplaces where individuals can purchase goods and services with limited government intrusion.
That's why I hope you will help today in keeping the Internet as free from government interference as much as possible.
You see, under the Internet Sales Tax:
*** Obama's Federal Government will use the IRS to force online retailers to pay for their new revenue scheme, all while raising costs for consumers.
*** Tax collectors in one state will have the backing of the Federal Government and the IRS to pursue retailers across state lines.
*** Many of your favorite sites will be flooded out of business due to a tidal wave of new and higher taxes and regulations that threaten the Internet as we know it.
We should be lowering taxes. Not raising them.
But that will not happen unless I receive your support.
Will you stand by while Obama's IRS and big-government politicians in both parties continue to dig their hands in your pocket?
Or will you sign your No Internet Sales Tax petition telling your Congressman and Senators ENOUGH is ENOUGH?
And after you sign, please consider sending your maximum contribution of $100, $500, or $35 to help me mobilize Americans in our fight against the Internet Sales Tax.
If we don't stop the Internet Sales Tax scheme, every consumer in the country will feel the crippling effects as Congress takes a massive chunk out of American prosperity.
Your support will help alert hundreds of thousands of Americans on the nature of this battle, all while putting pressure on my counterparts in the House and Senate, demanding they vote NO on the Internet Sales Tax.
That's why your support is crucial.
This won't be easy.
But your support is what we need to win.
Please act IMMEDIATELY.
Sincerely,
Steve Stockman
United States Congressman

Support the Balanced Budget Amendment
From the National League of Taxpayers:
It's a ticking time bomb.
That's why I'm hoping you'll sign your Balanced Budget Amendment petitions in support of H.J. Res. 5 and S.J. Res. 7, a bullet-proof Balanced Budget Amendment to your two U.S. Senators and Congressman, which I'll link to in a moment.
But first, let me explain why your support is so important.
The fact is, during Obama's tenure in office, our national debt has nearly doubled.
And the reality is, the $17 trillion national debt we hear so much about is just the tip of the iceberg.
When the government's unfunded liabilities for Medicare, Social Security, and federal employees' retirement benefits are counted, American taxpayers are really on the hook for over $86.8 trillion.
President Obama and his big-spending allies in Washington, D.C. have been piling on to our national debt every day, and show no signs of slowing down.
They've been spending money we don't have for so long, some economists are beginning to question not if the U.S. will ultimately have to declare bankruptcy, but when.
Of course, the "solution" to our ongoing fiscal disaster put forward by President Obama is to tax ourselves out of the hole, all the while claiming that there's nothing left to cut.
That's why I hope you will sign your petitions for the National League of Taxpayers' Balanced Budget Amendment, Senate Joint Resolution 7 and House Joint Resolution 5.
This Amendment would not only require a balanced budget, but would require a two-thirds vote by both houses of Congress to raise taxes, thereby making it much more difficult for the politicians to balance the budget by raising your taxes.
And it would shrink the exploding growth of government by limiting the size of the federal budget to 18% of our gross domestic product (GDP).
This NLT-supported Balanced Budget Amendment would put every wasteful program onto the chopping block simply by forcing politicians to actually make tradeoffs in their spending.
Today, the feds run 79 different welfare programs, 160 programs for housing assistance, 47 for job training, 82 for teacher quality, 80 for transportation assistance, and 56 for financial education.
In return for all that, we still have a history of stagnant education scores and an official poverty rate of 15 percent.
Yet Barack Obama and his tax-and-spend buddies keep binging and pushing for higher taxes.
But instead of stopping President Obama, his tax-and-spend allies merely give lip service to "fiscal responsibility" and "economic sanity."
The fact is, unless you and I force Members of Congress to put their money where their mouth is, the status quo of give-ins and giveaways will continue.
The reality is, we can immediately achieve hundreds of billions in savings by:
*** Abolishing the boondoggle Departments of Education, Energy, Commerce, and Housing and Urban Development;
*** Repealing the monstrously expensive ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank financial regulation law;
*** Transitioning Medicaid and food stamps back to the states where they belong and cutting back on the $37 billion spent on foreign aid.
That's why I hope you will sign your Balanced Budget Amendment petitions.
But honestly after you sign, I hope you will go a step further and make a contribution to help the National League of Taxpayers mobilize a political army in support of the Balanced Budget Amendment.
I don't need to tell you powerful players in Washington oppose the Balanced Budget Amendment.
Without the money to rally the American people, the Balanced Budget Amendment is likely to be buried.
Click here to sign your Balanced Budget Amendment Petitions at once.
You see, as long as the tax-and-spenders think they can get away with it, there will always be the vote for the next bailout, the next tax increase, and the next debt ceiling raise.
All coupled with the promise of "just this once."
At least just until the next time their fiscal irresponsibility throws us into the next looming "crisis."
That's why it's so important you sign your petitions at once and, if at all possible, chip in a contribution of even just $10 to help the National League of Taxpayers rally the American people.
The NLT-supported Balanced Budget Amendment would take those options off the table and force Congress to start making serious cuts.
Kicking the can down the road for future generations to pay for would no longer be an option.
But without a strict Balanced Budget Amendment, I fear we'll continue the tax-and-spend cycle.
You see, without any cap on government spending, the politicians are always able to invent some "crisis" to demand bigger government and higher spending.
That's why I pray you will sign your petitions to your U.S. Senators and Congressman, urging them to cosponsor this Balanced Budget Amendment.
And in addition to that, I hope you will help my friends at the National League of Taxpayers with a special contribution.
The fact is, even though many Americans who receive this letter will sign the petition, many won't be able to contribute.
If you can only chip in $10, it will be a big boost.
Of course if you can afford to make a larger contribution of $25 or $50 or even more, I hope you will.
You should also know that a generous supporter has agreed to match your contribution, dollar-for-dollar, so there isn't a better time to give.
Your donations will help the National League of Taxpayers organize:
*** Extensive internet, direct mail, and telephone campaigns to generate at least one million petitions and questionnaires to Congress like the ones that accompany my letter,
*** Extensive personal lobbying of key Members of Congress by rank and file National League of Taxpayers members and staff;
*** Hard-hitting TV, radio, and newspaper ads to be run in targeted states and districts, mobilizing the American people and detailing the dangers of our soaring debt.
Your donation will help the National League of Taxpayers reach up to 10 million Americans and generate a tidal wave of opposition to fiscal irresponsibility while building long-term support for a Balanced Budget Amendment.
So after signing your Balanced Budget Amendment petitions, please also help with a contribution.
Some people have already given as much as $500.
Others have sent $50 or $100, but no matter how much you give, whether it's chipping in with $10 or a larger contribution of $150, I guarantee your contribution is urgently needed and will be deeply appreciated.
And don't forget that a generous supporter has agreed to match your contribution, dollar-for-dollar, no matter the amount.
With your help, we can impose real limits on politicians that force them to actually cut the waste that is threatening our future.

Support the Balance Budget Amendment
From The National League of Taxpayers:
Are they our servants or our masters?
As I write you today, the federal and state governments continue to inflate government workers’ pay and benefits with your tax dollars.
And wherever bureaucrats can exploit taxpayers to enrich themselves, they’ll fight like tooth and nail to keep the gravy train going.
As a result, government employees are wealthier and enjoy far greater perks than their private-sector counterparts.
For example, following the October government shutdown, federal employees who the government itself deemed “non-essential” received $2 billion of back pay for the sixteen days they didn’t work.
But the politicians who get elected with the support of the teachers’ union and the various government employees' unions know where their support comes from.
So they keep paying them off with not only your money, but also your kids’ and grandkids’ money.
For example, a recent financial review determined that more than half of the country’s state-run pension plans are fiscally unsound because they promise far more than they’ve got the cash to cover.
As growth in these plans’ liabilities continues to overtake that of assets, another study reveals that public-sector obligations are bleeding cities dry, too.
61 major cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Seattle, and San Francisco, owe a combined total of over $126 billion to government workers’ retiree health costs, but have only saved enough money to fund 6% of that amount.
Only two of these cities, Los Angeles and Denver, have even managed to scrape past half their obligations -- and just barely.
And yet, the public-sector unions are always looking for more.
Aren’t public servants supposed to serve the people rather than the other way around?
Today we should be reducing crushing taxes, cutting meddlesome regulations, and demanding economic sanity from our government.
But instead, our public servants now see themselves as our public masters, constantly rolling out new regulations and burdensome red tape on their counterparts in the private sector.
It’s time to cut the gravy train and the demands at both the state and national level.
That’s why National League of Taxpayers members fight against taxes at the state level, and at the federal level support H.J. Res. 5 and S.J. Res. 7, a bullet-proof national Balanced Budget Amendment.
This NLT-supported Balanced Budget Amendment would require a balanced budget every year, limit the size of the federal budget to 18% of our gross domestic product (GDP), and require a two-thirds vote by both houses of Congress to raise taxes.
Tax-and-spend politicians can’t be trusted to voluntarily make real spending cuts, but this amendment would finally force all the national waste, including federal workers’ gravy train, onto the chopping block.
The taxpayers would finally cast off their federal public masters.
Sincerely,
Gary Paumen, President
National League of Taxpayers
P.S. Please click here to sign your Balanced Budget Amendment petitions to your Congressman and two Senators at once.
And if you are able, please consider chipping in with a donation of $10 or more to keep our vital programs running. We receive no government funding.

IRS wants to muzzle citizen's groups
From The National League of Taxpayers:
The Obama administration hasn't been able to shut us up.
So now they are trying to shut us down . . . and hide Obama's fellow tax-and-spend politicians from grass-roots activists.
As you know, prior to every election, the National League of Taxpayers and its members pour on the heat to expose politicians who try to hide their votes for higher taxes and spending.
Now, President Obama's IRS has invented regulations that ignore the Constitution, ignore the freedom of speech, and threaten to shut us down.
Obama's proposal threatens criticism of any sort and would subject your National League of Taxpayers to IRS audits and harassment if we publish:
Communications that are made within 60 days of a general election (or within 30 days of a primary election) and clearly identify a candidate or political party.
IRS Regulation IR-2013-92]
In other words: No public scrutiny by organized citizen groups before an election.
This is the dream of every politician who believes we should do nothing to rein in our massive $17 trillion national debt.
The Obama Administration’s plan is to muzzle your National League of Taxpayers and other Tea Party groups right at our most effective time -- when the politicians are looking for votes.
This is a flat out assault on the Constitution's guarantee of our freedom of speech.
But because they’re using the tax code, they just might get away with it under the government’s right to tax, just like they have so far with ObamaCare.
After all, only under tax law are you presumed guilty until proven innocent.
And if you and I don't have the right to organize grass-roots opposition to the position of our candidates for office, then the freedom of speech means nothing.
Here is what I urgently need you to do:
Please sign your Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petition against IRS Regulation IR-2013-92, which I'll link to in a moment.
Your signature authorizes me to file your opposition to IRS Regulation number "IR-2013-92" with the Federal Register.
You see, before Obama's regulatory proposal can go into effect, there is one prerequisite: By law he must publish the regulation in the Federal Register and give the public a chance to comment on it.
My goal is to both collect a minimum of 175,000 Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petitions that you can link to below BEFORE the February 27 Federal Register comment deadline and move forward to prepare a legal case against the rule.
And after you sign your Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petition, please consider a generous contribution of $15, $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford to your National League of Taxpayers.
Now I must be honest about the purpose of your IRS Freedom of Speech Petition.
The real importance of your IRS petition is to help me lay the groundwork to ultimately win a Supreme Court lawsuit against Obama's unconstitutional infringement of our freedom of speech.
Showing that Obama’s bureaucrats completely ignored more than a hundred thousand petitions in opposition from NLT members and other concerned taxpayers will be an important part of our legal challenge.
Once the final regulation is published, I don't plan to waste any time in filing a lawsuit against President Obama's power grab.
I need to know that you're with me, so please sign your Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petition right now.
If the new regulations go into effect, I could face IRS audits, harassment, and even jail time, every time I write you right before a primary or general election to tell you who how they vote.
Of course it is no wonder the tax-and-spend politicians like this new regulation. They don't want their constituents to know that:
***The deficit for 2013 was $680 billion with more than $8 trillion added to our debt since 2008;
***The real unemployment rate today is more than 14 percent with millions more workers relegated to part-time work;
***Social Security has already begun to run in the red;
***Medicare is ultimately destined to totally run out of money while private insurance rates are skyrocketing;
***And that they voted for the tax-and-spend boondoggles that got us here.
The National League of Taxpayers exposes all this and more, and with the help of members like you, floods the politicians with grass-roots pressure to cut spending precisely when they are out looking for votes.
Believe me, your grass-roots pressure can make a difference.
That's why it's crucial you sign your Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petition right away.
It would be dangerous to the future of this country to leave Obama's IRS looming over the heads of every group who would criticize Obama but don't have the resources to take a case all the way to the Supreme Court.
Believe me, all these legal expenses infuriate me.
If I have to divert funds which are budgeted for exposing tax-and-spend politicians and instead spend them fighting the IRS in court, it could cost us dearly in critical battles against the debt.
That's why it's vital you sign your Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petition.
After you sign, please chip in $15, $25, $50, $100, or even more if you can to your National League of Taxpayers.
Nothing will intimidate your NLT from implementing our full-blown election year, survey results program.
But now in addition to our election year program I must prepare for the additional expense of hiring the attorneys and beginning the legal research to fight President Obama in federal court.
And during the election season, while our lawsuit is working its way through the Courts, IRS harassment of your National League of Taxpayers could prove to be very costly.
Which is why your contribution -- whether $2500 or $25 -- is vital.
With your help, we WILL ultimately win, no matter how much time and money these legal assaults take.
Let me emphasize that although your contribution is vitally important, the most important thing I need you to do is to sign your Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petition.
If you can't give at the moment, I understand.
But whatever you do, I urge you to return your petitions before the February 27 Federal Register deadline and I'll see if someone else can help with the additional cost of attorneys and petition gathering.
And if you can, a sacrificial gift of $35 or even $100 or $500 now could protect our freedom of speech and will help us fight whatever fiscal battles lie ahead in the years to come.
So please respond right away with your signed Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petition.
And please help with a contribution of at least $25 or $35. Some people will be able to send as much as $500 or more. Others have sent $50 and $100.
But no matter how much you send, whether it's $15 or $150, I guarantee your contribution is urgently needed and will be deeply appreciated.
That's why I urge you to act immediately and send your contribution of $1000, $500, $100, $50, or at least $25 if you can prior to the February 27 IRS deadline.
Your contribution to the National League of Taxpayers and your signed petition will lay the groundwork for a clear legal precedent prohibiting President Obama from using the IRS to trample on the free speech rights of his critics.
Sincerely,
Gary Paumen, President
National League of Taxpayers
P.S. The grass-roots pressure you generate is the key to teaching waffling politicians that there are political consequences to piling tax dollars onto the national debt.
We can't let Obama use the IRS to shelter himself and his tax-and-spend allies from criticism during the election season.
Please return your Taxpayer Freedom of Speech Petition, along with your contribution of $100, $50, $25 or whatever you can afford.

Help the National League Of Taxpayers oppose Obamacare
From The National League Of Taxpayers:
President Obama’s 29 time pledge that “if you like your current [health insurance] plan, you can keep it” is working out to be the lie of the year.
5 million people have already lost their insurance plans so far, with studies estimating up to 129 million by the time the law is fully implemented.
Florida alone has seen 425,000 people lose their coverage, and California has seen a whopping 900,000 people.
But sometimes numbers can seem cold and detached, so allow me to put a human face to the Obamacare catastrophe.
For South Carolina cancer patient Bill Elliot, Obamacare is literally a matter of life or death.
Prior to Obamacare, Bill was already receiving the right doctors and treatment under his health insurance for a reasonable cost.
But because his insurance did not comply with Obamacare, his plan is gone and the new Obamacare options are far too expensive.
Mr. Elliot says Obamacare has left him no option but to “let nature take its course.”
Another one of Obamacare’s losers is Edie Sundby, a stage-4 gallbladder cancer patient.
Edie says her health insurance plan was excellent with providing the doctors and treatment that she needs.
But Obamacare has booted her out of her old plan too.
The only plans now available to her on the exchange forces her to give up the doctors and emergency services that she has relied upon for years to keep her alive.
She says “Thanks to the law, I have been forced to give up a world-class health plan. The exchange would force me to give up a world class physician.”
Obama’s so-called “signature legislation” is doing untold damage to millions of Americans and forcing many to make life or death decisions.
The fact is, not only is Obamacare fiscally unsound, it doesn’t even help.
There is no amount of tinkering that can repair the damage that this law will do.
And your National League of Taxpayers will not give up the fight for a full repeal of Obamcare.
You can help by clicking here to sign your petition to your Congressman and Senators urging them to repeal Obamcare in its entirety.
If we band together, we shall ultimately leave this monstrous law in the ash heap of history.
Sincerely,
Gary Paumen, President
National League of Taxpayers

Take the survey to eliminate fraud in Washington DC
From The National League of Taxpayers:
The cave-ins have got to stop.
The politicians in Washington, D.C. may think they just dodged a bullet by raising the debt ceiling yet again, but the truth is they’ve pushed us closer to ruin than ever.
That’s why I pray you will immediately complete your Emergency Taxpayer Questionnaire, which I’ll link to in a moment.
The fact is, the $17 trillion national debt we hear so much about is just the tip of the iceberg.
When the government’s unfunded liabilities for Medicare, Social Security, and federal employees’ retirement benefits are counted, American taxpayers are really on the hook for over $86.8 trillion.
On top of entitlements, the feds run 79 different welfare programs, 160 programs for housing assistance, 47 for job training, 82 for teacher quality, 80 for transportation assistance, and 56 for financial education.
In return for all that, we still have an official poverty rate of 15 percent.
Yet Barack Obama and his big-government pals keep binging.
The fact is, we can immediately achieve hundreds of billions in savings by:
***Abolishing the boondoggle Departments of Education, Energy, Commerce, and Housing and Urban Development;
***Repealing the monstrously expensive ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank financial regulation law;
***Transitioning Medicaid and food stamps back to the states where they belong and cutting back on the $37 billion spent on foreign aid.
Now, with more votes on the debt ceiling next year, and other budget fights on the horizon, it’s vital that you return your Emergency Taxpayer Questionnaire for transmittal to Congress.
The only way to force Congress to confront the debt head-on is by making sure they know the American people won’t stand for inaction.
In addition to that, it’s vital that you help the National League of Taxpayers with a special contribution.
The fact is, even though many Americans who receive this e-mail will fill out their Taxpayer Questionnaire, many won’t be able to contribute.
That’s why it’s vital you give $10, $25, $50, $100, or even more if you can.
Your special gift of $35 or even $100 or $500 will ultimately save taxpayers literally billions of dollars in the years to come.
You should also know that a generous supporter has agreed to match your contribution, dollar-for-dollar, so there isn't a better time to give.
Your donations will help the National League of Taxpayers organize:
*** Extensive internet, direct mail, and telephone campaigns to generate at least one million petitions and questionnaires to Congress like the ones that accompany my letter.
*** Extensive personal lobbying of key Members of Congress by rank and file National League of Taxpayers members and staff.
*** Hard-hitting TV, radio, and newspaper ads to be run in targeted states and districts, mobilizing the American people and detailing the dangers of our soaring debt.
So after clicking here to fill out your questionnaire, please help with a contribution of at least $25 or $35.
Some people have already given as much as $500.
Others have sent $50 or $100, but no matter how much you give, whether it’s chipping in with $10 or a larger contribution of $150, I guarantee your contribution is urgently needed and will be deeply appreciated.
And don't forget that a generous supporter has agreed to match your contribution, dollar-for-dollar, no matter the amount.
Here’s the bottom-line question: what kind of future will you and your kids have?
The national debt is such an out-of-control behemoth that if we again raise the debt ceiling, it will threaten to put America on a path of permanent decline.
With your help, we can stem the tide of Big Government and stop Barack Obama and his tax-and-spend pals from spending us into oblivion.
Sincerely,
Gary Paumen, President
National League of Taxpayers
P.S. Federal entitlement costs are out-of-control while our national debt is skyrocketing.
So please fill out your Emergency Taxpayers Questionnaire at once.
And to serve a mandate on Congress and take advantage of the special matching grant, please send a generous contribution of $100, $75, $50, or $35 at once.
Remember, a generous supporter has agreed to match your contribution, dollar-for-dollar, so there isn't a better time to give.
With the next debt ceiling fight coming up in January, it's vital the Congress face a tidal wave of grass-roots pressure before voting, so please click here.
