Campaign For Liberty celebrates its eighth anniversity

Did you see the recently-released list of pro-liberty groups targeted by former IRS official Lois Lerner?

Among the groups on the IRS’s “hit list” were Campaign for Liberty state groups from Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wyoming!

I hate to say it but this is hardly surprising.

Since our founding eight years ago, C4L has been repeatedly subjected to government harassment.

Just months after our founding, a taxpayer-funded “fusion center" released a report labeling Campaign for Liberty supporters as potential terrorists.

Our state leaders and activists have been subjected to persecution and intimidation from elected officials, bureaucrats, and their flunkies.

And the IRS even tried to force us to turn over the names and other personal information of some of our donors.

In one sense, this bullying and harassment of Campaign for Liberty is a compliment.

After all, if you and I weren’t effective in battle, statist politicians and bureaucrats would spend less time targeting us.

Of course, we refuse to give in to their tactics. Instead, every time some government agency or politician threatens us, our response is the same:


DOUBLE DOWN!

With Campaign for Liberty closer than ever to passing Audit the Fed, rolling back the Surveillance State, and stopping ObamaCare expansion and other state-level power grabs, we are more determined than ever to not cave in.

And I know you feel the same way.

Politicians say you don't care about the Federal Reserve. Prove them wrong

It's been a lonely journey at times.

For many years, the majority of my Congressional colleagues -- even other members of the House Committee on Financial Services -- could simply not understand why I devoted so much of my time and energy talking about the Federal Reserve.

"Ordinary Americans do not care about the Fed!" they'd scoff.

Then came the fall of 2008...

... The Fed-created housing bubble burst. The market collapsed. And the truth about the destructive power of the Fed was unleashed on millions of those "ordinary Americans."

It was the perfect storm.

And after the smoke and shock subsided, anger and a sense of betrayal predominated.

Americans realized the Fed was single-handedly responsible for the boom-bust cycle.

As a result, a record-number of Americans came to support auditing the Fed.

But I knew their personal support would not be enough, unless it was FELT by their representatives in Congress. And to achieve that, their demands had to RING OUT LOUDLY in the House and Senate.

That's where Campaign for Liberty comes in!

Fortunately, I'd just finished forming C4L for the exact purpose of mobilizing pro-liberty activists to put the heat on politicians.

And my staff and I agreed that passing Audit the Fed should be our #1 priority.

So for the past 8 years, C4L members have flooded Congress with petitions, faxes, emails, and phone calls insisting Congress stop dragging their feet and pass Audit the Fed.

Our success since 2008 has been nothing short of remarkable.

Not only has Audit the Fed twice passed the House of Representatives by an overwhelming majority, this January we came just seven votes shy of breaking Harry Reid's filibuster, passing the bill in the Senate, and sending it straight to President Obama's desk.

It's only because of the fact that we organized and mobilized as Campaign for Liberty.
