Support the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA)

From Let's Get It Right,California:

It's official.

The primary election is over, and that means the next time Californians head to the polls this November, we'll be voting on the Adult Use of Marijuana Act. Our campaign is reaching a new phase as we work to end marijuana prohibition once and for all in our state. And we need you to join us.

The campaign is about to speed up in a big way. In just weeks, we'll start knocking on doors, calling voters, and begin fighting for every vote. And more exciting news -- we just launched a brand-new website!

Let's Get It Right California website screenshot

Take a look at our new website today -- and forward this email to your friends and family to make sure they’ve seen it too!

Our new website is going to be the digital hub of our outreach efforts, a home base for new supporters to learn more about the AUMA, and an action center for people who want to get more involved in the campaign.

That's why we need you not only to explore our new website, but to send it along to everyone you know who's voting in the November election.

Since the primary is over, our opponents are only going to kick their attacks on us into higher gear. In fact, they just launched their own deceptive, misleading website to try to sway the public against us -- and we need your support to make sure they don't succeed.

Check out our new website and forward this email to make sure your friends and family are ready to end California’s marijuana prohibition!

I'm excited to get this started.

Brian Brokaw
Campaign Manager
Let's Get It Right California

California is on the edge of saying good bye to a law rooted in racism and embracing legalization that is the gateway to a greater understanding. The only problems associated with marijuana are legal ones. If it weren't for this stupid law there would be no destroyed lives due to police raids and families broken up with children placed in CPS custody. It's time to say good riddance to bad rubbish and say good bye to marijuana prohibition in the Golden State. So if you are a California resident or legally able to vote in California and you are tired of marijuana prohibition in that state you may want to support AUMA.

The facts about AUMA.

Changes

There are going to be font changes. I'm changing them so they are easier to read. Black-first person yours truly, dark blue 2nd person and dark green 3rd person. These changes are being implemented on my other blogs as well. I trust this is easier to read.

Politicians say you don't care about the Federal Reserve. Prove them wrong

From Campaign For Liberty:

It's been a lonely journey at times.

For many years, the majority of my Congressional colleagues -- even other members of the House Committee on Financial Services -- could simply not understand why I devoted so much of my time and energy talking about the Federal Reserve.

"Ordinary Americans do not care about the Fed!" they'd scoff.

Then came the fall of 2008...

... The Fed-created housing bubble burst. The market collapsed. And the truth about the destructive power of the Fed was unleashed on millions of those "ordinary Americans."

It was the perfect storm.

And after the smoke and shock subsided, anger and a sense of betrayal predominated.

Americans realized the Fed was single-handedly responsible for the boom-bust cycle.

As a result, a record-number of Americans came to support auditing the Fed.

But I knew their personal support would not be enough, unless it was FELT by their representatives in Congress. And to achieve that, their demands had to RING OUT LOUDLY in the House and Senate.

That's where Campaign for Liberty comes in!

Fortunately, I'd just finished forming C4L for the exact purpose of mobilizing pro-liberty activists to put the heat on politicians.

And my staff and I agreed that passing Audit the Fed should be our #1 priority.

So for the past 8 years, C4L members have flooded Congress with petitions, faxes, emails, and phone calls insisting Congress stop dragging their feet and pass Audit the Fed.

Our success since 2008 has been nothing short of remarkable.

Not only has Audit the Fed twice passed the House of Representatives by an overwhelming majority, this January we came just seven votes shy of breaking Harry Reid's filibuster, passing the bill in the Senate, and sending it straight to President Obama's desk.

It's only because of the fact that we organized and mobilized as Campaign for Liberty.

That's why our work is so important!

So I'm writing to ask you today to do something very important. Will you take a minute and sign your 8th Anniversary "Continue the R3VOLution" Pledge right away, to express your support and solidarity with Campaign for Liberty's mission?

And after you sign, please chip in a special 8th Anniversary contribution to help pass Audit the Fed and other pro-liberty legislation in the years to come.

I can't express the value of C4L's members in making change and fighting for liberty over the past 8 years.

Here's a 2012 headline from Politico. My 2012 prediction proved truer than I even dreamed, thanks to Campaign for Liberty's hard work and dedication.

Now you and I are on the verge of having our third vote in the House, setting up another Senate battle. This will force Senators to choose between the Big Banks and the pro-Audit the Fed majority right before the election.

But make no mistake -- it's going to take a great deal of hard work and dedication.

You and I will be unable to build on this success and pass Audit the Fed unless Campaign for Liberty members like you remain active in the fight for Federal Reserve transparency.

So on the 8th anniversary of our founding, I've decided to take a look back over C4L's past tooth-and-nail fights and unprecedented victories. And now, I'm asking you to do the same.

If you haven't done so yet, please, renew your dedication to the cause of liberty by signing your "Continue the R3VOLution" Pledge.

And if you have already signed your pledge, please chip in a special 8th Anniversary contribution to help pass Audit the Fed and other pro-liberty legislation in the years to come.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

P.S. Will you please take a minute and sign your 8th Anniversary "Continue the R3VOLution" Pledge right away and express your support and solidarity with Campaign for Liberty's mission?

You will have the chance to write me a personal message explaining what liberty means to you.

And if you have already signed your pledge, please chip in a special 8th Anniversary contribution to help pass Audit the Fed and other pro-liberty legislation in the years to come.

The passing of the greatest

As we all mourn the passing of Cassius Clay, later to be known as Muhammad Ali we look at all the areas of his life. Sports fans and sports media will profile his boxing career. Here we will discuss his fights outside the boxing ring. This was back in the '60's and 70's. Things were a lot different then than they are today in 2016. Racist Jim Crow laws were still in place throughout the American south with the Ku Klux Klan calling the shots. In a environment such as this you can see how blacks were genuinely oppressed. Ali's refusal to fight in Vietnam was a noble one. His reasons very sound and very accurate. Why should a black man die for a racist country that mistreats him? Ali pointed out that unlike the KKK,the Vietcong did nothing to him and he has no ill will toward them. Those are very sound reasons. Ali refused to help his oppressors. He even told them that if they didn't like it they could send him to jail. A lot of brave men throughout history sacrificed their livelihoods to do the right thing. Edward Snowden is a recent example. Just as Ali's actions initially caused him a lot of trouble he was later vindicated but he did bounce back to retire in 1981. Not only that but it made him a hero. Ali was fighting not only a boxing opponent but a racist society that was content to keep him down but failed to do so. Muhammad Ali is more than a boxing champ. He is an American hero.

The establishment is trying to ram TPP through Congress

From Fight For The Future:

BREAKING: The New York Times is reporting that pro-TPP politicians plan to sneak the Trans-Pacific Partnership––and Internet censorship––through Congress during the lame duck session. [1]

Our Rock Against the TPP roadshow could play a big role in stopping it, but we’re still $44,000 short of our goal.

We’ve suspected this was coming, but now it’s confirmed. Corporate-backed lawmakers want to buck democratic process and rush the TPP to a vote this Fall.

The TPP is the largest deal of its kind in history. Although it's called a "free trade" deal, only six of the 30 chapters deal with traditional trade issues.

The TPP was negotiated behind closed doors in complete secrecy, with the same lobbyists who wrote bills like SOPA sitting at the table [2], so it’s no surprise that it’s full of unbalanced provisions that will lead to more censorship and DMCA takedowns, less online privacy, and more corporate and government control of the Internet. [3]

So many people have been speaking out against it that we’ve delayed the TPP for years already. Our tireless campaigning has made it politically impossible for any of the leading Presidential candidates to openly support it.

But now corrupt members of Congress are making a last ditch effort to ram the unpopular agreement through during the “lame duck session,” when many elected officials vote without meaningful accountability, since they’ve already either been re-elected or unseated for the coming year.

The New York Times rightly called their plan “perverse,” noting that backroom trade deals like the TPP haven’t “faced such political toxicity in decades.”

Fortunately, as you may have heard, we’re working with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and his new record label, Firebrand Records, to announce the largest mobilization against the TPP ever: the Rock Against the TPP roadshow.

We’ve been working on this for months and now we’re almost ready to unveil the incredible lineup and list of dates for a series of large-scale events in strategically selected cities featuring high profile musicians, speakers, and celebrities who can help us reach huge numbers of people who haven’t yet heard about the dangers of the TPP.

These events will have a massive impact, and the headlining artists are generously donating their time, but there are still a lot of major costs we have to cover, like venue rentals, sound and lighting equipment, posters and advertising, and transportation costs.

We’ve already raised more than $240,000 to make this epic endeavor possible, but we’re still $44,000 short of our goal for the first 6 events. We’re so close!

Please chip in $5 (or more!) to make the Rock Against the TPP tour possible!

If we fall short of our goal, we’ll have to scale back the plan, which will lessen its potential impact at a crucial time. On the other hand, if we surpass our goal, we’ll be able to add even more stops to the tour, putting the pressure on key members of Congress and helping educate massive numbers of people about this critical issue.

We CAN stop the TPP, and this is the single most effective way to do it. Will you chip in to make sure we can make it as big as it needs to be to ensure victory?

Yes! I’ll chip in to support the Rock Against the TPP roadshow.

Regardless of whether or not you can donate, stay tuned! In the coming days we’ll be making major announcements about this tour, and all the other ways you can get involved. It’s really exciting stuff!

Yours for the future,

-Evan at FFTF

P.S. If everyone on our list donated just $1, we’d be way past our goal already. But not everyone can chip in, so if you can, please click here to make sure we have the resources we need to stop the TPP.

Stand up for our children's innocence

From Public Advocate:

The radical homosexuals infiltrating the United States Congress have a plan:

Indoctrinate an entire generation of American children with pro-homosexual propaganda and eliminate Traditional Values from American society.

Their ultimate dream is to create a new America based on sexual promiscuity in which the Family Values you and I cherish are long forgotten.

I hate to admit it, but if they pass the deceptively named "Student Non-Discrimination Act," (H.R. 846) that's exactly what they'll do.

Better named the "Homosexual Classrooms Act," its chief advocate in Congress is Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO), himself an open homosexual and radical activist.

And Republicans in both the House and Senate -- especially Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell -- are under tremendous pressure to sell out to the Homosexual Lobby's radical agenda and pass this bill.

That's why I need you to act quickly -- right away -- to protect our nation's youth.

I have prepared the official "Protect Our Children's Innocence" Petition to Congress for you to sign.

You and I must defeat this disastrous legislation.

You see, the Homosexual Classrooms Act contains a laundry list of anti-Family provisions that will:

*** Spin impressionable students in a whirlwind of sexual confusion and misinformation, even peer pressure to "experiment" with the homosexual "lifestyle;"

*** Exempt homosexual students from punishment for propositioning, harassing, or even sexually assaulting their classmates, as part of their specially-protected right to "freedom of self-expression;"

*** Force private and even religious schools to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum and purge any reference to religion if a student claims it creates a "hostile learning environment" for homosexual students.

And this bill is just the beginning of the Homosexual Lobby's radical agenda.

In fact, it will set them up to ram through their entire perverted vision for a homosexual America.

My friend, I'm sure I don't have to tell you this is not a fight we can afford to lose.

That's why Public Advocate is leading the fight against this immoral legislation.

But I need your help to do it.

You see, it's becoming harder and harder to send my message to pro-Family advocates.

The radical Homosexual Lobby is working day and night to censor Public Advocate's warnings about the Homosexual Classrooms Act.

That's why, along with your signed petition, I need you to seriously consider chipping in a special contribution of $15 to Public Advocate.

A contribution of just $20 will enable me to email 1,000 potential new supporters.

This is a battle for the survival of American values, and the fact is, there's no time to waste.

The Homosexual Classrooms Act will turn America's schools into indoctrination centers and its classrooms into social laboratories -- and they're pulling out all the stops to pass it.

You see, they've disguised the bill's wicked purpose behind an innocent name: "The Student Non-Discrimination Act."

The Homosexual Lobby knows that if the public finds out the truth about their radical agenda, they'll have no hope of success.

They've made that mistake before, and you and I had enough time to kill the bill.

This year they have successfully kept everything under wraps -- for now.

I've developed a massive program to launch the second they try to push this bill through Congress -- mail, email, phones, and even radio and TV ads.

But that's only possible with your support...

None of these things are cheap.

In fact, running a program of the size necessary to defeat this bill can get quite expensive, especially with increases in postage and printing costs.

That's why I ask for your generous contribution.

In addition to your signed "Protect Our Children's Innocence" Petition, will you contribute $15 or even just $10 or $5 right away?

Unfortunately, this agenda is nothing new.

Other countries like Britain are already experimenting with this kind of legislation, such as mandating public schools inject pro-homosexual content into every aspect of education.

Word problems in math classes are now to include homosexual characters. History classes will document the "civil rights" struggle against the "oppressive" pro-Family establishment.

And it's even started to infiltrate our state and local governments.

In parts of California, lawmakers "require schools to portray lesbians, homosexuals, transsexuals ... as positive role models to children in all public schools."

Sexual deviants held up as models of virtue?

If that makes you as sick as it makes me, you simply must join me in this battle for America's children.

Please sign the "Protect Our Children's Innocence" Petition to Congress and then send a generous contribution of at least $5 right away.

Your action will make all the difference.

If all that wasn't enough to convince you that action must be taken immediately, there's more.

Some say that there will always be private schools and traditional homeschool families to teach Traditional Values to the next generation.

But the truth is, this radical agenda is NOT restricted to public schools.

Kevin Jennings, while acting as Obama's "Safe Schools Czar," clearly stated that "every school, public, private or parochial has an obligation" to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum.

Jennings denounced school choice programs as "very dangerous" because they make it much harder to impose the Homosexual Agenda on our kids.

"Lord forbid a Baptist or Mormon school," he added.

Jennings' ultimate goal is for all curricula in "kindergarten, and first grade, and second grade -- every grade" be infused with a pro-homosexual slant.

Traditional Values will be squashed and demonized as old fashioned or out-of-date, or even as bigotry.

You and I cannot let them succeed.

Please sign the "Protect Our Children's Innocence" Petition to Congress I've prepared for you right away.

And along with your petition, would you please send a generous contribution of $15, $10, or $5?

Thank you so much for all you do.

Sincerely,

HON. EUGENE DELGAUDIO
President,
Public Advocate of the United States

P.S. Radical homosexuals in Congress have a plan to indoctrinate our children in schools -- both public and private.

But Public Advocate is taking a stand. Will you join me?

Please sign the "Protect Our Children's Innocence" Petition to Congress I've linked here.

And along with your petition, would you please send a generous contribution of $15, $10, or $5 right away?

Big Cable thinks it can break FCC rules by ignoring Net Neutrality

From The Daily Kos and Demand Progress:

Comcast, T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T are all acting like they’re above the law.

Each one of them is breaking the Net Neutrality rules the FCC passed last year, daring the FCC to challenge them.

This is the first major test of how the FCC will implement the Net Neutrality rules. We need to make sure the FCC knows we're watching and sets the precedent that violating Net Neutrality has real consequences.

Take action now to protect Net Neutrality. File a complaint with the FCC demanding they enforce the Net Neutrality rules they passed last year and rein in Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

Since we won at the FCC, and since we keep winning in Congress, Comcast and friends have a new strategy: just break the rules.1,2

Here’s how it works:

When we won, the FCC never banned “zero rating”—the practice where Internet providers exempt some sites or services from their own monthly limits (“data caps”). Instead, the FCC said they’d look at zero rating “case by case.”

Meanwhile, data caps are still allowed. And ISPs can dramatically slow down your Internet after you hit the cap. See where this is going?

All ISPs have to do is keep our data caps low, and then exempt some sites from the cap. “Special” sites. The ones that pay them $$$.

In other words, every site that Comcast and AT&T don’t approve of gets thrown in a slow lane. We can’t let this happen. File a complaint to the FCC now!

If you can, please try to personalize your complaint and your Internet provider will have to respond to you and report back to the FCC.

Independent policy experts are telling us that the FCC is making up its mind on this now, and that they’re only hearing from… (guess who?) Comcast, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon.

Submitting takes just a few seconds, and the FCC needs to hear from as many of us as possible!

It’s so important that the FCC hear from all of us Internet users! This takes less than a minute. GO FOR IT!

Thanks for speaking out.
