The Senate is trying to sneak through the National Internet Tax Mandate

From Campaign For Liberty:

Unless you and I act now, the National Internet Tax Mandate could sail through the Senate, the House, and into law before the end of the month!

Campaign for Liberty members continue to keep the National Internet Tax Mandate from even being considered by the House of Representatives, but the powerful special interests behind it have not given up their efforts to raise the price of every good you buy online.

Campaign for Liberty staff have heard that a “bipartisan” group of Senators—led by Big Government Republican Mike Enzi and Big Government Democrat Dick Durbin—are trying to attach the National Internet Tax Mandate to the “must-pass” Highway Appropriations bill.

Their hope is that if they can attach the Internet sales tax to the Highway bill the House leadership will ram the Internet sales tax into law rather than risk even a temporary shutdown of federally-funded highway programs.

It seems like a full-proof plan, but there is one thing the statists are not counting on…

The same thing that has blocked every other scheme to sneak the National Internet Tax Mandate into law...

Campaign for Liberty members like you!

If we let the Senate know the people are watching, and oppose any attempts to pass the National Internet Tax Mandate, we can stop this deal!

So please call your Senators today and tell them to vote NO all votes to attach the National Internet Tax Mandate to highway funding.

The Senate could begin consideration of the highway bill as early as tommorow, so it is vital you call your Senators NOW.

Again, Senators Mike Enzi, Dick Durbin, and the special interests behind the National Internet Tax Mandate, hope that by attaching the National Internet Sales Tax Mandate to the Highway Funding bill they will provide “cover” to pro-Internet Sales Tax and waiving politicians.

If this passes, those who voted for it will say they had no choice…

They will say they had to impose new taxes and regulations on the Internet, otherwise highway construction would have come to a standstill, and millions of Americans would have been thrown out of work (and those Senators who opposed the deal would have antagonized powerful labor unions and business lobbyists).

We have come too far in our battle to keep the Internet tax free to be defeated by a sleazy deal like this!

The only way to stop this deal is to make sure the Senate knows we are on to their scheme and we will not let them get away with it.

So please take a moment today to call your Senators and tell them to vote NO on any Highway bill that contains the National Internet Tax Mandate!

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could move the Highway bill to the Senate floor as early as tomorrow, so please contact your Senators immediately!

If passed, the National Internet Tax Mandate will:

•Raise prices on everything you buy online;
•Provide big-spending governors with new bailout money through the federal government imposing more taxes on their citizens; Violate the principle of “No Taxation without Representation” by allowing state legislatures to raise taxes on individuals and businesses located out of state, with little, if any, recourse against politicians who hike tax rates;
•Free tax collectors in one state to pursue retailers across state line;
•Allow government bureaucrats from all fifty states to examine every Internet purchase you make in order to ensure you are complying with the National Internet Tax Mandate;
•And make it easier for the Federal Government to sic the IRS on the Internet!

The National Internet Tax Mandate’s incentive to raise sales taxes will lead to an explosion of already out-of-control state budgets.

Even worse, the massive cost of complying with the National Internet Tax Mandate could drive many smaller Internet companies out of business... and discourage the creation of the next Amazon.com.

So please call your senators and tell them to oppose any legislation containing the National Internet Tax Mandate... including the Highway Appropriations bill.

But most importantly, please contact your senators IMMEDIATELY.

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

P.S. Senators Mike Enzi and Dick Durbin are leading a “bipartisan” group of Senators in trying to sneak the National Internet Tax Mandate onto a “must-pass” Highway Appropriations bill.

This sleazy deal is designed to provide cover for pro-Internet sales tax politicians who can claim that they “had” to vote for National Internet Tax Mandate or else shut down highway construction.

Please call your Senators and tell them to vote NO on all votes on legislation adding the National Internet Sales Tax Mandate to the highway funding bill.

And if you can please chip in $50, $25, or even $10 to help Campaign for Liberty efforts to stop the National Internet Tax Mandate.

Force an up and down vote on the National Right To Work Act

From the National Right to Work Committee:

Big Labor desperately wants to stop a vote at all costs.

In recent months, your emails, petitions, and postcards have flooded Capitol Hill offices, increasing the numbers of cosponsors on the National Right to Work Act, which has been reintroduced in the Senate as an amendment to another bill this week.

Senator Mitch McConnell was on the Senate Floor this morning calling for a vote, but union-label Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is going all-out to block the vote, so we need to turn up the heat.

Please call your U.S. Senators at once and urge to cast every vote in favor of the National Right to Work Act.

The National Right to Work Act gives every Senator the opportunity -- and the obligation -- to fight to restore to American workers the freedom to work free from union coercion. That freedom should never have been stripped from them in the first place. .

But you can bet the Big Labor hierarchy is putting tremendous pressure on every Senator to protect their power.

That's why it's vital you call your U.S. Senators right away, and urge them to vote for the National Right to Work Act on all votes.

Contact your Senators

You see, just getting a vote would be an enormous win/win situation for Right to Work supporters.

Poll after poll shows that 80 percent of Americans support the Right to Work principle.

So if Big Labor's allies in the Senate want to KILL our National Right to Work Act, they'll face the wrath of the voters when they are up for reelection.

Your help has been critical as we've built momentum for our cause.

Now in this critical moment, I need your help again.

And after calling your Senators, please consider chipping in with a contribution of $10 or more to help your National Right to Work Committee keep up the fight against Big Labor.

But most importantly, please call your Senators at once.

Please act right away. There's not a moment to lose.

Sincerely,

Mark Mix

P.S. Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell are making a major push to get a vote on Right to Work on the Senate floor!

It's vital you call your U.S. Senators at once and urge to cast every vote in favor of the National Right to Work Act.

The vote for National ID can happen anytime

From National Association For Gun Rights:

The battle over Barack Obama's DANGEROUS National ID database is raging in the United States Senate RIGHT NOW!

Obama's goal is one massive database, cataloging information on ALL Americans so Washington, D.C. bureaucrats can pick and choose to deny rights to certain individuals -- especially Second Amendment rights.

And that's exactly what he's seeking with his DANGEROUS ID database buried inside the so-called "immigration reform" bill.

The good news is, my Capitol Hill legislative team tells me NAGR member, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), is set to offer a "Trust but Verify" Amendment that would strip Obama's DANGEROUS ID database out of the immigration bill.

Senator Paul's amendment could come up for a vote on the floor of the Senate as early as today.

That's why it's vital you take action AT ONCE.

Please use the telephone numbers listed below to contact BOTH of your U.S. Senators.

When you make your calls, INSIST that your Senators SUPPORT Rand Paul's "Trust but Verify" Amendment to strip the DANGEROUS ID database out of the immigration bill.

Once you've made your calls, please encourage others to make calls as well.

Continue reading below to learn more about the threat that Obama's DANGEROUS ID database poses to gun owners.

The DANGEROUS ID database would contain the names, addresses, and biometric information -- like facial and retinal scans and fingerprints -- of EVERY AMERICAN.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see how such a system could be abused.

Firearm purchases -- including serial numbers -- could easily be linked to the national DANGEROUS ID database creating an instant National Gun Registry.

Ammo purchases could be linked. Health records, book purchases, online activity, religious views -- contribution history to political candidates -- could all be at a federal bureaucrat’s fingertips.

And it could all happen with a series of simple Executive Orders -- without so much as a vote in Congress!

I know Senate “Gang of Eight” members -- like Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Dick Durbin (D-IL), John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) -- just link arms with President Obama, smile and say “trust us.”

I can’t imagine any American citizen who values their freedom falling for that after the outrages we’ve seen out of the Obama administration, including:

*** President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security issuing warnings about patriotic Americans, “rightwing extremists,” veterans and those with the “wrong” Presidential candidate’s bumper sticker on their cars;

*** The Obama IRS scandal, using the vast power of the federal government to harass and intimidate Tea Party groups, Christian and conservative organizations and political enemies;

*** Attorney General Eric Holder targeting reporters and even their family members with wiretapping for daring to criticize the Obama administration;

*** The Fast and Furious scandal where the Obama administration just looked the other way while bloodthirsty Mexican drug gangs funneled arms across the border resulting in the death of Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry.

Over the past few months, you and I have seen more full frontal assaults on our gun rights than at any time in a generation.

NAGR members have stood up and defeated each and every one so far.

In fact, as Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) recently said, “Without NAGR’s bare-knuckled, no-compromise tactics, I believe President Obama would have already succeeded in ramming gun control into law.”

Of course, these battles rage on. But now, the gun-grabbers are trying a backdoor scheme, hoping to catch Second Amendment supporters napping.

The truth is, the Big Government, anti-gun establishment in Washington, D.C. -- including members of BOTH parties -- have been lock, stock and barrel behind such an “Immigration Reform” scheme for years.

They think the time is now finally right to ram this scheme -- complete with a national DANGEROUS ID database -- into law.

That’s why it's vital you call BOTH of your U.S. Senators RIGHT NOW!

INSIST that your Senators SUPPORT Rand Paul's "Trust but Verify" Amendment to strip the DANGEROUS ID database out of the immigration bill.

Many Second Amendment supporters just don’t understand the stakes with this national DANGEROUS ID database.

It’s up to you and me to inform and mobilize them. But with the fight raging right now, there’s not much time.

You and I MUST fight back.

These past few months have been some of the most critical in decades for the survival of our Second Amendment. You and I can’t let up the pressure now.

For Freedom,

Dudley Brown
Executive Vice President
