From RandPAC:
As this Congress skipped out of town for August recess, it has been blasted as a "Do Nothing Congress."
While I strongly believe in a limited role for government that resides within the bounds of the Constitution, Congress does have a duty to pass legislation that maximizes freedom and prosperity and strengthens our national defense.
Harry Reid doesn't seem to share that view.
He's blocking three of my bills that would have helped Americans by limiting government at home and standing by our allies abroad.
At a time when Americans are scratching and clawing to merely keep their heads above water due to President Obama's failed economic policies, my Audit the Fed bill and National Right to Work Acts would help create an economy where all could prosper.
President Obama's print-borrow-tax-and-spend policies are enabled by the unaccountable Federal Reserve.
Opening up their books for an audit would allow all Americans to see exactly how the Federal Reserve manipulates our money supply, destroys the purchasing power of the dollar and props up Big Government deficit spending.
If you want to stop Obama, you have to stop the Fed.
And passing a National Right to Work Act would unshackle our economy from union boss control.
Instead of lining the coffers of Big Labor with forced union dues, workers would keep their own money and be free to spend it how they see fit.
Our economy should create the conditions for everyday Americans, and not special interests like Big Labor, to prosper.
In world affairs, if America sounds an uncertain trumpet, our friends won't know we stand with them and our enemies won't fear us.
That's why I proposed the Stand with Israel Act.
This legislation will cut off the flow of taxpayer money to the Palestinian Authority government as long as they are aligned with the terrorist organization Hamas.
No one should question Israel's right to self-defense.
And not one penny of your money should flow to terrorists who attack Israel and refuse to recognize its right to exist.
But all of these vital pieces of legislation have one thing in common…
…They are stalled in Harry Reid's Senate.
This upcoming election is crucial for conservatives.
If we want to set our economy on a path for prosperity for all and reassert American leadership abroad, conservatives must remove Harry Reid as Majority Leader.
So I hope you'll stand with RANDPAC in the fight to elect Constitutional Conservatives this November by signing your "Statement of Republican Principles" right away.
Only a committed conservative movement will provide the energy and enthusiasm to end Harry Reid's reign as Senate Majority Leader.
Thank you for all that you do.
In Liberty,
Senator Rand Paul (R - KY)
P.S. Harry Reid is the one man standing in the way of the Senate passing conservative legislation to undo President Obama's train wreck.
But only a committed conservative movement will remove him as Majority Leader and pave the way for a change of course.
Please sign your "Statement of Republican Principles" and join RANDPAC in fighting to elect constitutional conservatives in November.

Preserve your freedoms
From Rand2016:
Our national media, Washington, D.C. insiders and even my colleagues in Congress are already sniffing around . . .
They know Monday, June 30 is the next End of Quarter Fundraising Deadline. Immediately following, I must turn in my financial report for the last quarter.
With the November elections rapidly approaching, and several fights still raging before Congress, all eyes are on you and me.
The media and Washington, D.C. insiders know a big fundraising quarter for me would send a loud-and-clear message to President Obama and Big Government politicians in BOTH parties that the American people are insisting on a return to limited government and constitutional principles!
I can’t think of any more important message this election year.
But in order to send a message the D.C. establishment can't ignore, it's critical my End of Quarter Push raise $200,000 by June 30.
So won’t you please contribute as generously as you can today?
I know it’s hard to look at Washington, D.C. and be optimistic about anything when we’re constantly barraged with news about:
***Our federal government’s $17.5 TRILLION in national debt. In real terms, that’s over $220,000 for a family of four!
***The disastrous ObamaCare Law, which CBO reports say will cost $2.6 TRILLION we don’t have, 2.5 million jobs we need and still leave 30 million Americans uninsured!
***Government spying on American citizens, which has exposed a constant string of NSA abuses and outright disregard for our Constitution’s Fourth Amendment.
And I haven’t even mentioned new schemes still being considered before Congress!
The National Internet Sales Tax, which would dramatically hike taxes on many mom and pop small businesses, could still rear its ugly head before the 2014 elections.
News reports and Washington, D.C. whispers say immigration reform efforts – that still do virtually nothing to ensure proper border security – could also come up.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had enough of Washington, D.C. politicians trying to “solve” our problems for us.
Just recently, the Obama administration issued new regulations, “tweaking” their healthcare scheme to allow them to bail out insurance companies who lose money with BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars!
At the same time, news broke that the same administration that thinks it can run healthcare for ALL Americans was using secret lists to hide the fact that military veterans are forced to wait excruciating periods of time just to get medical care!
In fact, at least 40 American veterans died awaiting medical care at the Veterans Administration!
This is an OUTRAGE!
And now – in addition to spying on our phone calls and emails and assaulting our gun rights – the Department of Agriculture is launching a proposal to purchase its own submachine guns!
For what?
I won’t stand for this madness and I’m determined to fight.
That’s why this next End of Quarter Fundraising Deadline is so critical.
At a time when both Congress and the President have approval ratings in the basement, if I can show massive and growing support, it will help prove the American people are fed up with Big Government schemes.
I can’t think of anything more important this election year.
Whether it’s ObamaCare, gun control, government spying or our national debt, so much is at stake this November . . .
Will the next U.S. Congress be controlled by those who will kowtow to President Obama’s every wish?
Or will it be those who only throw up tacit opposition?
Or will it be controlled by those who think ObamaCare MUST be repealed and our remaining freedoms as American citizens are worth fighting for?
Your action today will help decide all of that.
Money talks in Washington, D.C.
Not just for the national media. Not just for Washington, D.C. insiders.
But also for those running for office.
A big fundraising quarter for me will also help show those candidates running for office that staying true to their word to stand up and fight for constitutional conservative principles as I’ve done is a sure way to get rewarded by grassroots patriots all over the country.
After all, I’m just one man. One U.S. Senator from Kentucky. At the end of the day, it’s really the millions of grassroots patriots like you who hold the power to turn our country around.
And despite all the madness we see in Washington, D.C., your action is making a difference.
Today, most political experts are predicting a BIG election for Republicans this November.
I hope they’re right.
But it won’t happen unless we fight back.
It’s going to take the hard work of every American to break the “consensus” in Washington, D.C.
The “consensus” that ObamaCare can never be repealed, that spending can only go up, never down, that Big Government governs best . . .
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Washington, D.C. more out of touch!
And because of that, I believe many of my colleagues are in for a rude awakening this November.
The good news is, you’ve proven you can make an enormous difference here in Washington, D.C.
For years now, you and I have fought to expose the madness coming from the Obama administration. Now polls seem to show the American people are coming to realize that you and I were right.
But our job is not over.
I need to show you’re still in my corner. The politicians in Washington, D.C. need to hear how fed up you are with their Big Government schemes. And with fights still raging in Congress, I believe we need to send that message well before November 2014.
So please chip in a contribution of $10 or $20.
That’s why your support today is so critical.
Please agree to chip in a contribution of $10 or $20 at once!
In Liberty,
Senator Rand Paul
P.S. June 30 is rapidly approaching. This is the End of Quarter Fundraising Deadline. Immediately following, I must turn in my financial report for the last quarter.
And I can promise you, all eyes will be on you and me during that critical time.
Your action, standing with me over the past several months, has made an enormous impact in Washington, D.C.
But politicians in Washington, D.C. have short memories. That’s why I need you to prove to them you’re still in my corner.
So please agree to help me raise $200,000 by June 30 by chipping in a contribution of $10 or $20 TODAY!

CISPA goes to the Senate
From Demand Progress:
Here we go again.
Last week, a majority of representatives in the House voted in favor of CISPA, and therefore in favor of allowing companies to share your personal data with other firms, the US government, and the NSA--all without a warrant and with legal impunity.
On the bright side, the Obama administration once again heard our voices and threatened to veto CISPA if the legislation did not more "carefully safeguard privacy and civil liberties."
Now the fight moves to the Senate, where where we won this fight last year and have some of our staunchest allies. Please sign at right to tell your Senators to oppose any cyber-security legislation that doesn't protect our privacy and civil liberties, and then click these links to get your friends to do the same:
CISPA's corporate backers--IBM, Intel, Verizon, and AT&T--are spending millions lobbying in support of the bill precisely because it empowers them to share your private data with government agencies and the military while safeguarding themselves from legal action.
Indeed, IBM's VP of government affairs admitted last week that his company intended to use CISPA to "work directly and share information directly" with the National Security Agency.
The big corporations are going to keep pushing for CISPA at the expense of their users' privacy and liberties. Sign to tell your Senators to oppose anti-privacy cyber-security legislation now.
Now, as before, we cannot sacrifice our hard-won liberties and privacy rights in the pursuit of a misguided and overbroad conception of "cyber-security."

Protect your civil liberties
From Demand Progress:
Open Letter to Politicians: Don't Exploit the Boston Tragedy to Restrict Civil Liberties
We are all deeply saddened by the recent events in Boston, and our hearts go out to those most directly impacted by them. (This has hit close to home for Demand Progress, as our organization has been largely based in New England.)
Sadly, some politicians are already invoking the Boston tragedy as cause to increase surveillance, reduce Americans' due process rights, engage in racial profiling, and even to pass entirely unrelated cyber snooping legislation.
It's highly unlikely that expanded powers would have prevented the bombings. And as Benjamin Franklin admonished us, "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."
The coming days provide a critical window of opportunity for us to help shape the national discourse in the wake of the events of the last week. Please add your name at right to sign on to our open letter to lawmakers.

McCain is a senile old moron

John McCain attacks Rand Paul on filibuster, drones saying he needs to ‘calm down’
U.S. Sen. John McCain slammed fellow Republican Rand Paul on the Senate floor Thursday morning for his 13-hour filibuster to block John Brennan’s confirmation as CIA Director.
“Calm down, Senator,” McCain said, in an address to Paul. “The U.S. government cannot randomly target U.S. citizens.”
In his filibuster Wednesday, Paul criticized the White House over its drone policies, and for refusing to rule out military strikes against U.S. citizens on American soil.
McCain said Thursday that Paul’s warnings that the U.S. could target “Jane Fonda” or “people in cafes” bring the debate into the “realm of the ridiculous.”
“If Mr. Paul wants to be taken seriously he needs to do more than pull political stunts that fire up impressionable libertarian kids,” McCain said, adding: “I don’t think what happened yesterday is helpful to the American people.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) echoed these criticisms, adding that he was “disappointed” in the 13 Republican Senators who supported Paul’s filibuster last night. Graham scoffed at Paul’s question about whether Obama thinks he has the authority to kill a noncombatant American citizen on U.S. soil.
“I find the question offensive,” Graham said Thursday on the Senate floor. “As much I disagree with President Obama and as much as I support past presidents, I do not believe that question deserves an answer.” Paul’s question, the South Carolina Republican said, “cheapens the debate.”
Graham later told reporters that he will vote to confirm Brennan as a result of the filibuster

I am so sick of hearing about John McCain, that senile old bastard from Arizona. He is a fucking STATIST in all caps. Wherever the forces of liberty go to defend civil liberties and freedoms McCain is there to counter us and oppose us,time and time again. He has never once stood on the side of liberty in fact he is our biggest opponent on the Republican side of the aisle. McCain's disdain for us "liberty kids" is obvious and his understanding of how the government is ran is very limited or he under estimates everybody else. If you received a watered down third rate education by a modern union teacher who couldn't care less and cannot be fired due to tenure then maybe you'll believe McCain. On the other hand if you received a quality education then you know McCain is full of shit. The government is "of the people, for the people and by the people". The people run the government. That is why McCain must run to keep his job and if he loses he goes back to Arizona to stay, which sounds great to me. If there were no elections he would just meet someone in a office to discuss performance reviews. Sounds like McCain needs to either take a course in civics or get off our Libertarian backs.
Senator Lindsey Graham has made good decisions in the past. His standing up to VAWA is admirable but he's got it wrong this time. There can be some positive changes. Unfortunately a lot of Republicans want to be liked by the liberal media and to do so they will sell out core conservative values if they think it will gain them favorable coverage. Unfortunately for them the liberal media hates them and will do anything against them. Senator Graham,if you are reading this or hear about it that dinner with Obama may have been the most expensive meal yet. I don't believe the voters of South Carolina sent you to Washington DC to clink glasses with Obama. I'm sure when they heard about it they were probably very upset. If Obama and the Democrats can accept the National Review hates their guts then the Republicans have to accept the New York Times hates their guts. If you are a Libertarian and a resident of Arizona or South Carolina let McCain and Graham know where you stand.

Good news from Campaign For Liberty
From Campaign For Liberty:
As I've mentioned to you previously, Campaign for Liberty is growing fast and making great strides to advance freedom. To show you just a few of these success stories, I've had Campaign for Liberty staff contact our state coordinators for updates on some of the battles they've been fighting and some of their victories.
You'll be pleased to know that C4L supporters are having tremendous success, and our state groups are adding new members every day.
Reports are still coming in, but below is an overview of some of Campaign for Liberty supporters' recent successes.
MASSACHUSETTS
Leah Cole, a nurse and young supporter of yours, won the March 5 Special Primary Election for the Massachusetts General Court.
Leah now has an excellent opportunity to win the General Election on April 2nd and head to Beacon Hill.
As I'm sure you recall, your supporters won a number of Massachusetts' National Convention delegates, and even though your campaign has ended, they clearly haven't stopped fighting for liberty.
NORTH CAROLINA
Campaign for Liberty supporters in North Carolina have been busy fighting two major battles this year.
The first battle was to stop the Medicaid expansion called for under ObamaCare.
Last year, former Democrat Governor Bev Perdue accepted federal grant money in exchange for setting up a state and federal Medicaid exchange program.
But North Carolinians elected Republican Pat McCrory in November.
McCrory didn't speak out about Medicaid expansion on his campaign, so Campaign for Liberty supporters immediately began using email, faxes, petitions, and postcards to mobilize on this issue.
After some back and forth about whether ObamaCare was the "law of the land," and a public exchange between the House Speaker and North Carolina C4L State Coordinator Adam Love, McCrory came out against the Medicaid expansion, and the State Legislature passed a bill to opt-out of the Medicaid expansion and a health insurance exchange.
Governor McCrory signed the bill into law.
A second fight has been waged against an effort by the NFL's Carolina Panthers to secure a taxpayer subsidy to renovate Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
The Panthers originally asked for $62.5 million in taxpayer money - paid for by an increase in Charlotte's Prepared Food and Beverage Tax.
Campaign for Liberty supporters sent emails and made phone calls to the North Carolina House Speaker and Senate President Pro Tem urging them not to hike taxes to fund the Panther's renovation.
Not long after, Governor McCrory issued a statement saying state money was a no-go, and State Representatives from the Charlotte area said tax hikes were off the table.
Instead, they put forward legislation to authorize the Charlotte City Council to re-purpose local tax money to the Panthers.
C4L supporters are currently fighting that bill.
DELAWARE
Since the year 2000, the Appoquinimink School District has literally gotten away with virtually any tax hike or spending increase they wanted. This year, the School District put forth a referendum to increase taxes.
The last time there was a referendum to hike taxes, it passed by a vote of 2,229 to 409.
But thanks to the hard work of C4L supporters, this year was different.
C4L state leaders ran pre-recorded phone calls to 7,300 targeted voters letting them know their property taxes were about to increase by $23 million - more than 24%.
A record 8,934 people showed up at the polls, and the tax hike was defeated 4,633 to 3,301.
GEORGIA
Charlie Gregory, Georgia State Coordinator for your Presidential Campaign, got elected to the State House and has been leading the fight for liberty in the General Assembly.
Despite threats and intimidation from the establishment, Charlie hasn't backed down and is fighting hard to protect liberty.
Because Representative Gregory voted against one of their gun-control schemes, I've been told the establishment is withholding funds from his district as "punishment" for opposing gun control.
The good news is, C4L supporter David Stover won a recent special election for State House in Georgia, so Charlie is no longer the lone voice fighting for constitutional government.
Georgia also held their Republican County Conventions last week to elect delegates to the upcoming District and State Conventions.
Numerous Campaign for Liberty supporters were elected as delegates to both the State and District Conventions, and many even got elected to positions within the Party.
Here's a brief summary of some of their successes.
In Coweta, the third largest GOP in the state, C4L dominated, taking both the Chair and the Vice Chair positions. In Warner Robbins (Houston County), the stronghold of the 8th District, C4L supporters won the majority of delegates.
In Fayette County, C4L folks swept all leadership positions within the County Party. In Bibb County, C4L folks made gains and got a resolution passed demanding passage of Charlie Gregory's HB 26 - the Georgia Constitutional Carry Act.
And in Dekalb, C4L supporters defeated a massive property tax increase.
IOWA
Friends of liberty have made tremendous strides in the "First in the Nation" state of Iowa in getting elected or reelected to major offices within the state Republican Party.
A former high-ranking officer of the Iowa GOP went on record talking about how many people "from the Campaign for Liberty" have taken over prominent positions, and that comment came before their latest election, when one of your supporters was elected as co-chair of the Iowa GOP!
Members of our movement now hold the chair, co-chair, Executive Director, Organization Director, and Finance Chair positions in the Iowa GOP.
MISSOURI
In Missouri - the largest caucus state in the nation - grassroots liberty activists mobilized and successfully elected an anti-establishment candidate as Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party, beating Senator Roy Blunt's hand-picked candidate.
NEVADA
In Nevada, liberty-minded Republicans gained control of the majority of the state and municipal party leadership.
MAINE
In Maine, Washington State, and many other states and localities across the country, the same holds true, as liberty-minded activists are getting elected to positions of party leadership.
OTHER STATES
Colorado C4L supporters fought hard and got protection from Indefinite Detention out of Committee, but, unfortunately, they lost by one vote on the floor. However, they have a great base to build on for future success on this issue.
In Maryland, C4L supporters defeated a red-light camera bill.
Conclusion
The American people are FED UP with the Big Government, big spending status quo in Washington.
Our liberty movement has never been so strong.
And Campaign for Liberty is just getting started.
I'll update you on more developments in the coming weeks.
Good news indeed. If the statists want somewhere to play their games look outside of the USA. Better yet they should just go to some deserted island somewhere.
As I've mentioned to you previously, Campaign for Liberty is growing fast and making great strides to advance freedom.
