Let's get Congress to investigate the NSA

From Fight For The Future:

Hey, have you been watching the news?

The entire world is talking about the leaked documents -- and the interview with heroic whistleblower Edward Snowden -- that show definitive proof that the U.S. Government has been using the Internet to watch, record, and track huge numbers of innocent people from every corner of the globe. They have our phone calls, know where we are, and what we'll be doing.

It’s illegal. It’s unconstitutional. And it’s just plain wrong. Click here to demand that Congress investigate and reign-in NSA surveillance.

The revelations about the National Security Agency -- the secret courts, gag orders, mass untargeted wiretapping, monitoring of the Internet -- read more like a dystopian novel than real news headlines.

Obama is defending the program. The companies are denying knowledge of it. There’s so much we still don’t know about the extent of the government’s unconstitutional intrusions into our lives.

That’s why we need a full investigation. These leaks have sparked national outrage and we have this one chance to turn that anger into action and demand that Congress publicly investigate the NSA’s illegal spying operations.

This is a watershed moment for this country. As you talk to your friends and family about what the government is watching, this is the time to think about how important privacy is --- what thoughts and ideas would go away if you didn't have privacy, what opinions, what crushes, what business idea, what art, and what important movements would never have started.

We’ve been working round the clock this weekend to prepare this (with partners like the EFF, Free Press, Demand Progress, Mozilla and many more). We hope this effort can help your conversations and that you will share it.

Sincerely,

Holmes, Tiffiniy, Evan and the FFTF team

P.S. You need to watch this interview with Edward Snowden if you haven’t already; it’s just breathtaking. Then tell the government to StopWatching.us
