No to debt ceiling increases

From the National League of Taxpayers:

Obama says he’s happy.

And the mainstream media may be crowing about Obama’s “victory,” but I wouldn’t pull out the bubbly just yet if I were them.

Because the debt ceiling and continuing resolution fights are just getting started.

The fact is, 2/3 of House Republicans voted against the deal, despite the heavy pressure from the media.

And even 40% of Senate Republicans stood firm.

That’s why, if you have not already done so, I’m counting on you to sign your emergency “Just Say No to Debt Ceiling Increases” Petition, which I’ll link to in a moment.

The fact is, the day of reckoning for Congress is just around the corner.

All Congress did was kick the can down the road until January 15, when they’ll have to take up talks on the debt ceiling and the budget again.

And when they do, we must be ready to go all out.

The last vote bought us three more months in which to double down the pressure on targeted Members of Congress.

To get the deal they did, the White House had to rely on all the Democrats who voted, plus a fraction of Republicans.

That leaves us with our work cut out for us before the January 15 deadline.

Now you and I must force Republicans to hold the line.

It’s vital that we generate a tidal wave of petitions between now and January 15 to demand that our lawmakers refuse to cave.

Thanks to the most recent battles, we know specifically which Members of Congress to target, since we saw how the chips fell this last round.

And if you and I generate enough pressure, lawmakers will have to hold the line against Obama’s next debt ceiling increase.

Or they’ll be facing a round of angry voters next election.

So please, click here immediately to sign your “Just Say No” Petition to help me lay a mandate on Congress.

And after signing, if you can, I also hope you'll chip in with a contribution to help us expand the reach of our "Just Say No" campaign.

Sincerely,

Gary Paumen, President
National League of Taxpayers

P.S. Please click here to sign your "Just Say No" Petition to pressure Members of Congress to hold the line against the next debt ceiling increase.

And if you can, I hope you’ll also chip in with a generous contribution to help me mobilize more.
