Tell your Senators to support an up and down vote on Audit The Fed

From Campaign For Liberty:

In just a few hours, the U.S. Senate will vote on Stanley Fischer’s nomination to be Vice-Chairman of the Federal Reserve.

The Senate will also vote on Dr. Lael Brainard and Jerome H. Powell’s nominations to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.

This gives us a great opportunity to force Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to finally hold an up or down, roll call vote on Audit the Fed.

So please contact your senators today and ask them to oppose all three nominees until Senator Reid agrees to hold a vote on Audit the Fed.

As you know, Senator Rand Paul has placed a hold on all Federal Reserve nominees in order to force Senator Reid to agree to hold a roll call vote on Audit the Fed.

On Tuesday afternoon, Senator Reid held cloture votes for these nominees. Once again, the only way he was able to get cloture was to violate the rules of the Senate requiring sixty votes to advance a nomination, instead proceeding with a simple majority.

None of the nominees got sixty votes, and Stanley Fischer only received 56 votes!

Violating the rules was the only way Senator Reid could win without holding a vote on Audit the Fed.

So all we need to do is convince seven senators to Stand with Rand (and the nearly 75% of the American people who support Audit the Fed) by voting against these three nominations until Senator Reid schedules an up or down vote on Audit the Fed!

The final confirmation vote will occur today, so I need you to call your senators immediately.

Click here to learn how they voted on Tuesday.

If your senator voted against cloture, tell them to keep it up and vote NO on all three nominees until Senator Reid holds an up or down vote on Audit the Fed.

But if your senator voted with the banksters, Wall Street special interests, and the big spenders who do not want the spotlight shown on the Fed’s policies, tell them you expect them to stand with the nearly 75% of Americans who support Audit the Fed by voting against confirming all Fed nominees until Harry Reid schedules a vote on Audit the Fed.

Stanley Fischer was already confirmed to the Federal Reserve Board last month, but the Senate must hold a confirmation vote on his nomination to be Vice-Chair.

Since Stanley Fischer is already on the Board, there is no reason for the Senate to not delay confirming him as Fed Vice-Chair until Senator Reid gives Audit the Fed its vote!

Campaign for Liberty members have flooded the Senate and the House of Representatives with petitions, emails, and phone calls demanding they support Audit the Fed.

As a result of your efforts, Audit the Fed once again has a majority of House cosponsors, and Senator Paul’s efforts to block all nominees to the Fed unless Senator Reid gives us a vote have been more successful than anyone predicted.

For a majority leader to have to break the rules to advance a Federal Reserve nominee would have been unheard of just five years ago.

Now we need to light up the Senate’s phones today to let senators know we expect them to side with the nearly 75% of Americans who support Audit the Fed.

I am confident we can win if Harry Reid allows an up or down, roll call vote.

You can bet Wall Street’s army of high-paid lobbyists is frantically working behind the scenes to pressure wavering senators to vote to advance these nominations without giving the American people the opportunity to learn the full truth about the Fed’s special deals and bailouts.

That is why it is crucial you call your senators today and tell them to vote NO on confirming any nominees to the Federal Reserve - including Stanley Fischer as Vice-Chairman - until Harry Reid schedules a vote on Audit the Fed.

And if you can, please chip in with a contribution of $50, $30, or even $10 to help Campaign for Liberty pass Audit the Fed.

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

P.S. In just a few hours, the Senate will vote on three nominees to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. And Senator Rand Paul is once again leading the opposition to the nominations to build support for S. 209, the Audit the Fed bill.

Your action today is critical to help us turn up the pressure on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to finally hold an up or down, roll call vote on Audit the Fed.

So please call your senators immediately and tell them not to vote to confirm any Federal Reserve nominee until Harry Reid holds a roll call vote on Audit the Fed.
