Donate to restore net neutrality

From Free Press Action Fund:

Incredible. In the week since a federal appeals court struck down the Net Neutrality rules, close to 120,000 people have joined Free Press in urging the Federal Communications Commission to save the Internet.

There’s a growing consensus that companies like AT&T, Time Warner Cable and Verizon have no right to decide what we can do and say online. Fortunately, there’s a clear way for the FCC to stand up to these telecom bullies — but we need to push the agency to do the right thing.

Thanks to the court ruling, Internet service providers can now block websites they don’t like, slow down videos that compete with their own and favor one application over another — all while making it more expensive for you to get online.

This is a scary moment. But it’s also an exhilarating one — because we know how we can win back the Internet. We need the FCC to reclaim its authority over broadband networks and pass stronger Net Neutrality rules that will actually hold up in court.

That’s right: With one simple act, the FCC can stop these companies in their tracks. But the agency won’t do anything unless we continue to raise our voices.

This week’s powerful display of support for the open Internet happened because of Free Press activists like you. Every time you sign a petition, share a blog post or add a comment, the movement to save the Internet grows stronger.

Millions agree that the FCC must reclaim its authority to stop service providers from turning the Internet into an imitation of cable TV — complete with higher prices, multiple “tiers” dictating what you can and can’t access, and a stranglehold over our rights to connect and communicate.

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler has said that “all options are on the table” when it comes to restoring Net Neutrality. We can win this thing — but your support is crucial to making that happen.

Thanks for everything you’ve already done to help save the Internet. Donate to the Free Press Action Fund and help us restore your rights to connect and communicate.

Thanks so much,

Josh, Candace and the rest of the Free Press Action Fund team
