If you hate asset forfeiture support the CAIR Act

From Campaign For Liberty:

One reason the Founders crafted the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was to stop government from depriving citizens of their life, liberty, or property without due process of law.

In fact, when discussing these rights in 1772, Samuel Adams wrote, "Now what liberty can there be where property is taken away without consent?"

But today, government policing for profit operations are set to ramp up around the country.

I'm afraid they're going to follow the lead of our new Attorney General Loretta Lynch who confiscated nearly a BILLION DOLLARS worth of civil assets as a U.S. prosecutor!

This is bad, bad news.

Law-abiding American citizens are left with virtually no recourse.

And the government jackboots who make the seizures are often free to spend the cash on virtually anything they want -- from office equipment, uniforms, cars, and firearms, to liquor-fueled parties!

Legalized government theft under the official-sounding euphemism "Civil Asset Forfeiture" is a racket that would make the mafia proud.

That’s why I’m counting on your action in support of the FAIR Act IMMEDIATELY.

According to the Department of Justice's statistics, it seized over $4.4 BILLION from American citizens in 2012 alone.

It's just ONE of 12 federal agencies throwing "innocent until proven guilty" out the window to make seizures!

And these figures don't even include the tens of BILLIONS local governments seize from innocent law-abiding Americans every year!

This can of worms was originally opened to give law enforcement more power to fight their Drug War.

Now, it's spiraling out of control as government increasingly looks for any excuse to confiscate anyone's property to pad their own coffers.

Many times, it's the poor who are targeted -- because government officials know they often can't afford high-priced attorneys or the court fees it takes to fight back.

How long until these rogue police powers are used to target citizens whose growing gun collections government believes are "suspicious?"

Or carry cash on family vacations instead of credit cards to help keep track of spending?

With money-hungry government goons becoming even more brazen with the backing of President Obama's new Attorney General, Loretta Lynch -- I'm counting on your IMMEDIATE action to help me stop this madness.

As you'll see, I've created petitions to your U.S. Representatives and Senators insisting they cosponsor and vote for the Fifth Amendment Integrity Restoration (FAIR) Act, S. 255/H.R. 540.

If passed, the FAIR Act, introduced by my son, Senator Rand Paul, would finally END the policing for profit operations around the United States that is bleeding innocent Americans dry.

With everything at stake, won't you please sign the FAIR Act petition today?

With a tidal wave of grassroots pressure, I believe you and I can FORCE Congress to act to restore the Fifth Amendment.

But even if you and I can just force a vote, it's a win/win situation.

Let members of Congress try and defend their votes to allow rogue government agencies outright theft of innocent -- and often poor -- Americans' property.

They'll pay a steep price at the polls in 2016!

So please, take a moment to sign your petitions in support of the FAIR Act today.

As former Illinois Senator Everett Dirksen once said, "When I feel the heat, I see the light."

After you've signed, I hope you'll make your most generous contribution to Campaign for Liberty today to help them turn up the heat and end the practice of "civil asset theft"!

For Liberty,

Ron Paul
Chairman

P.S. Legalized government theft under the official-sounding euphemism "Civil Asset Forfeiture" is a racket that would make the mafia proud.

With government agencies around the country set to follow Attorney General Loretta Lynch's lead and ramp up their stealing of innocent Americans' wealth, I'm counting on your IMMEDIATE action.

Please sign your petitions in support of the FAIR Act and make your most generous contribution to Campaign for Liberty today.
