Atheists sic IRS on christian and conservative groups

From Public Advocate:

Have you seen this outrageous headline?
IRS Agrees to Atheist Group's
Demands to Monitor Sermons

An atheist-based group, Freedom from Religion Foundation, reached a settlement with the IRS to "monitor" what they vaguely call "rogue political churches."

The group asserts that these churches are violating their tax-exempt status by promoting political issues.

But what they really mean by "rogue political churches" is any church that exercises their freedom of expression.

Such as a pastor vocally supporting the traditional definition of marriage, or pro-Family values in general.

And the IRS unveiled a sneak peak of their definition of "monitor" in 2012, when the agency was caught red-handed unfairly targeting Christian groups and conservative-based organizations.

With the Obama administration calling the shots, I must admit this plan could have devastating consequences for churches nationwide.

I've designed a program to counter these dire threats, but Public Advocate must reach our $30,000 goal by tomorrow, July 31st.

That is why I must ask you to help boost Public Advocate's Religious Liberty Defense Fund with a generous contribution IMMEDIATELY.

You see, the Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) is the same group that has launched an all-out campaign to rip up and tear down the Mt. Soledad Cross.

They have even gone as far as attacking prayer offerings at local City Council meetings.

The FFRF has one mission: attack our faith at all costs.

Make no mistake, the IRS' agreement with the radical FFRF means Christian churches better sleep with one eye open.

These unconstitutional restrictions are intended to intimidate and harass churches just for expressing their beliefs.

And the IRS' agreement only reinforces the pattern of hostile behavior we've seen the Obama administration wage against religious institutions.

That's why your action today is so critical.

I've budgeted an aggressive program to raise $30,000 by tomorrow, July 31st, to fight back.

Please help Public Advocate's Religious Liberty Defense Fund by making a generous contribution right away.

Right now, Christian business owners are being forced into re-education programs for refusing to affirm homosexual "marriage."

Armed Service members. Schools. Churches. Everyday Americans like you and me have had our Religious Liberties sacrificed.

Will you please agree to chip in a contribution of $20 right away to help fuel Public Advocate's Religious Liberty Defense Fund?

My staff stayed up all night crunching the numbers, and we're still short of the $30,000 we need to raise.

If $20 is just too much, will you please agree to chip in a contribution of $10 or even $5 immediately?

Any amount you can give to help get our Religious Liberty Defense Fund up and running is a blessing.

So please help Public Advocate's Religious Liberty Defense Fund by making a generous contribution today!

For the Family,

HON. EUGENE DELGAUDIO
President, Public Advocate of the U.S.
