One vote away for cloture on S 815

From Public Advocate:

100,000 Phone calls and emails.

60,000 Emergency Fax Petitions.

1 Vote holding back the Homosexual Agenda.

I’ll explain those numbers in just a minute, but first let me give you the whole story.

Public Advocate has been holding off a vote on S.815, the Gay Bill of Special Rights, since it moved out of Committee in July.

We’ve held the line for months.

But last Friday, I learned through insider sources that Harry Reid and the Homosexual Lobby were ready to make their last big push.

You see, they have enough co-sponsors to vote S.815 through, but they do not have the 60 votes needed to invoke cloture and avoid a pro-Family filibuster.

And the liberal Senators know that if we can drag out this vote and put it before the American public, they will face the wrath of millions of angry voters.

But Harry Reid thinks they are now within striking range of that threshold, and he made his plans public Monday morning.

They will vote on S.815 any day now -- and definitely before Thanksgiving.

Four weeks. That’s the most we have.

Public Advocate worked hard for months to stall the vote as long as we could -- but couldn’t hold it off forever.

In the past week, the Gay Bill of Special Rights has gained four public supporters in the Senate, bringing the total number of co-sponsors and pledges to 59...

...One more vote, and they will be able to completely shut down the conservative filibuster.

My staff accurately predicted weeks ago that Senators Bill Nelson (FL), Mark Pryor (AR) and Joe Manchin (WV) were all secretly planning to vote for this radical homosexual bill.

And despite the efforts of more than 50,000 Public Advocate supporters across these states, all three Senators pledged to vote against the Family just this week.

Believe me, there will be a reckoning for their betrayal of their pro-Family constituents, but first we need to focus on stopping the Gay Bill of Special Rights.

On top of that, Cory Booker -- who ran as a supporter of the radical Homosexual Agenda -- was just sworn in Thursday as New Jersey’s newest senator and the 59th “Yes” vote on S.815.

Now the Homosexual Lobby is surveying the field to find out who will be their last vote.

But Public Advocate went on the warpath as well this past week.

Over 100,000 phone calls and emails poured into the offices of eleven Senators from Public Advocate supporters Monday and Tuesday.

So many took action that one supporter in Alabama reported that the instant he mentioned S.815, the Senate staffer remarked that he must be with Public Advocate.

Many Republican Senators are quietly promising to vote against S.815, but refusing to condemn it in public.

And Public Advocate supporters have been delivering a clear message to these Senators:

Silence is unacceptable.

Our nation needs bold leaders who are willing to take a risk and publicly stand against the radical agenda of immorality.

We do not need a pack of cowards lurking behind their desks.

Half a dozen supposedly conservative Senators have learned recently that we will accept nothing less than a public declaration against the Gay Bill of Special Rights.

I’m also pleased to announce that Public Advocate faxed over 60,000 signed petitions against S.815 in to all 100 Senators.

We shut down fax lines for hours in almost 400 Capitol and District offices.

And let me tell you, the effect is being felt.

I have heard through sources that our advocacy is being thoroughly discussed among Senate staffers.

One establishment lobbyist contacted me directly begging us to stop -- we are rocking the boat and making it impossible for the so-called conservatives to cut a deal with the Homosexual Lobby.

I told the lobbyist that Public Advocate has steered a “no-compromise course” for over 30 years in defense of family values, and we are not about to surrender the fight now!

The vote could happen at any time now -- all we know for sure is that Harry Reid promised a vote before Thanksgiving.

But Public Advocate is going to fight on full-steam until the last vote is cast.

I can’t give you all the details yet -- we are writing our battle strategy as fast as we can -- but keep an eye out for next week.

Public Advocate will be announcing a major coordinated program across the country to make sure no more Senators cross over to the radical homosexual camp.

Be ready, I’m going to need your help.

For the Family,

HON. EUGENE DELGAUDIO
President, Public Advocate of the U.S.
