Ted Cruz was right

From Senate Conservatives:

Fellow Conservatives:

Ted Cruz was right. Republicans should have refused to fund Obamacare.

The president's health care law is an unmitigated disaster and now Democrats in Washington are running for political cover.

If Republicans had listened to Mike Lee (R-UT) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), they could have won this fight and stopped Obamacare. Instead, Mitch McConnell (R-KY) sabotaged the effort and now Americans are paying the price.

That's the bad news, but here's the good news: It's not too late for Republicans to do the right thing.

Obamacare funding expires January 15 and Republicans should not renew it. If Democrats cause another government shutdown to protect this terrible law, Republicans should hold firm and use the showdown to push for full repeal.

The only way to fix Obamacare is to repeal it and the only way to repeal it is for Republicans to stand strong.

NO MORE LIES

President Obama lied when he said Americans could keep their current health plans, but now some politicians say they can fix this problem with yet another mandate on insurance companies.

Politicians who say they can fix this mess without repealing the law are not being honest. The federal government is incapable of managing our health care system and this train wreck will continue until Obamacare is repealed.

Here's what Ted Cruz told Megyn Kelly on Fox News yesterday:

"The bills that the White House and some of the Democrats are talking about are tinkering around the edges. They won't make a difference to the 5 million people who lost their health care already. They won't make a difference to the 90 plus million with employer provided health care. The only way to stop the problems is to admit the idea was fundamentally flawed to begin with. We've got to start over."

The best thing for Republicans to do now is to tell Americans the truth and demand full repeal of the law.

Unfortunately, too many Republicans are defeatists and will accept whatever changes the Democrats propose even if it doesn't solve the problem.

If Republicans aren't careful, they will do exactly what President Obama did and make promises that will be broken.

REPEAL IT OR GO HOME

The Republican establishment in Washington will never admit this, but Ted Cruz and the 2 million Americans who signed the "Don't Fund Obamacare" petition were right.

Obamacare is every bit of the disaster we predicted it would be and the Democrats will abandon it if Republicans hold strong.

The law is increasingly unpopular and the president's job approval rating is at its lowest point since he was elected. For the first time, a majority of voters now believe he is not "honest and trustworthy."

Thanks to conservatives, Republicans are in a strong position on this issue. Now is not the time to go soft. Now is the time to show Americans that there are people in Washington who will fight for them, not lie to them.

Democrats should be given two choices: repeal Obamacare or be defeated in your next election.
